4. Installation

Follow these steps to install your WEST BIKING GPS Bike Computer on your bicycle:

  1. Choose Your Mount: The bike computer can be installed using an Extension Bracket (for bike computer/headlight), a dedicated Extension Bracket for integrated handles, or the included Bike Computer Fixed Base.
  2. Prepare the Base: If using the fixed base, insert the rubber gasket into the base.
  3. Secure the Base: Use the provided rubber rings to firmly fix the base to your handlebar or stem. Ensure it is stable and does not move during riding.
  4. Attach the Bike Computer: Insert the WEST BIKING GPS Bike Computer into the fixed base by aligning the tabs and twisting until it locks securely in place.

5. Operation

5.1 Button Functions

5.2 Setting Metric and Imperial Units

  1. Hold the > (right button) for 2 seconds to enter setting mode.
  2. Press the > (right button) to cycle through settings until you reach the unit selection (KMH or MPH). The default is metric (KMH).
  3. Press the POWER (left button) to toggle between KMH and MPH.
  4. Press the > (right button) to save your selection and exit setting mode.

5.3 Time Zone Setting

  1. Hold the > (right button) for 2 seconds to enter setting mode.
  2. Press the > (right button) to navigate to the time zone setting.
  3. Press the POWER (left button) to adjust the time zone numbers.
  4. Press the > (right button) to move to the next setting or save and exit.

5.4 Data Display Modes

The device offers multiple data display modes. Short press the > (right button) to cycle through them:

  • Mode 1: Displays current speed (KMH/MPH). When you start recording, press >. If cycling speed is 0, the device will pause automatically. If no data is received for 15 minutes, the device will enter sleep mode.
  • Mode 2: Displays Average Speed, Ascend Distance, Average Gradient, and Total Riding Time.
  • Mode 3: Displays Maximum Speed, Odometer (ODO), Maximum Gradient, and Maximum Altitude.

5.5 Clear Riding Data

To clear current riding data (excluding Odometer and total riding time), press and hold both the POWER (left button) and > (right button) simultaneously for 2 seconds.

5.6 Automatic Sleep/Wake-up

The device will automatically enter sleep mode after 15 minutes of no riding activity. When you resume riding, it will automatically wake up and turn on.

5.7 Automatic Backlight

The bike computer automatically calculates sunrise and sunset times based on the set time. The backlight will automatically light up from half an hour before sunset to half an hour after sunrise. If there is no operation for 30 seconds while stationary, the backlight will turn off.
