3. Safety Information and Warnings

  • No Output Reverse Connection Protection: This product does not have output reverse connection protection. Connecting the battery's positive and negative poles in reverse will damage the device.
  • Battery Charging Expertise: Battery charging requires specific professional knowledge. Non-professionals should not attempt to charge batteries directly without proper understanding to prevent fire and explosion hazards.
  • Backflow Protection: For battery charging applications, it is recommended to connect a backflow protection diode to the output end to prevent current from flowing back into the converter.

4. Setup

4.1 Component Identification

Figure 2: Main Circuit Board Components and Connections

Refer to Figure 2 for the location of key components and connection points:

  • IN+ / IN-: Input terminals for DC power supply.
  • OUT+ / OUT-: Output terminals for regulated power.
  • Power Switch (hard switch ON/OFF): Controls the main power to the unit.
  • MPPT Hardware Switch: Activates the Maximum Power Point Tracking function, with an indicator light illuminating upon activation.
  • External Temperature Sensor Interface: For connecting an optional NTC 3950B 10K external temperature probe.
  • Input Common-Mode Inductors: Reduce input power ripple for low ripple output.
  • High-Power, High-Temperature Iron-Silicon-Aluminum Magnetic Ring Inductors: Ensure stable operation.
  • Output 2-Stage Filtering: Enhances output stability and reduces noise.
  • Intelligent Temperature-Controlled Fan: With large-area ventilation heat sinks for efficient cooling.

4.2 Initial Connection

  1. Connect your DC input power source to the IN+ and IN- terminals. Ensure correct polarity.
  2. Connect your load or battery (with a backflow protection diode, if charging) to the OUT+ and OUT- terminals. Ensure correct polarity.
  3. Connect the display unit to the main board via the provided cable.
  4. If using the over-temperature protection feature for battery charging, connect the external temperature probe to the designated interface and stick the probe onto the battery.
  5. Ensure all connections are secure before proceeding.

5.2 MPPT Solar Charging

The XY7025S supports MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) solar charging. To enable this feature, activate the MPPT hardware switch on the main board. An indicator light will illuminate when MPPT is active.

5.3 Over-Temperature Protection

When an external temperature probe is connected and placed on the battery, the device supports over-temperature protection. If the battery temperature exceeds a set limit, the charging process will automatically stop to prevent damage.

6. Maintenance

The XY7025S is designed for reliable operation with minimal maintenance. Keep the device clean and free from dust. Ensure proper ventilation around the unit, especially the heat sinks and fan, to prevent overheating. No user-serviceable parts are inside the sealed unit; do not attempt to disassemble.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Device Not Powering On: Check input power connections and ensure the hard power switch is in the ON position.
  • No Output: Verify that the output power is turned on via the Power Button on the display unit (short press). Check for any active protection modes (see Section 8.1).
  • Device Stops Charging/Output: The device may have activated an internal protection mechanism. Common reasons include:
    • Over-Temperature Protection (OTP/ETP): If an external temperature probe is used, the charging will stop if the battery or internal temperature exceeds safe limits. Allow the unit to cool down.
    • Input Under-Voltage Protection (LVP): The input voltage may be too low.
    • Output Over-Voltage Protection (OVP): The output voltage may have exceeded the set limit.
    • Output Over-Current Protection (OCP): The output current may have exceeded the set limit.
    • Output Over-Power Protection (OPP): The output power may have exceeded the set limit.
  • Damage from Reverse Polarity: If the battery was connected with reverse polarity to the output, the device may be permanently damaged as it lacks reverse connection protection.
