4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to set up your Yieryi Solar Garden Irrigation System:

  1. Mount the Controller: Use the provided screws and wall plugs to fix the solar panel controller near your water source. Ensure the controller is positioned no more than 1.5 meters (approx. 4.9 feet) above the water level for optimal pump performance.
  2. Position the Solar Panel: Fix the solar panel in a location that receives direct sunlight for at least 5-6 hours daily to ensure proper charging of the internal battery. A grounding stake can be used to secure it in soil. Loosen the screw connecting the grounding rod to adjust the angle of the solar panel surface to maximize sun exposure.
  3. Prepare the Tubing: Cut the water pipe (tubing) to the desired lengths using scissors, according to the layout of your plants.
  4. Connect Components:
    • Install the inlet pipe to the controller's "IN" port and the outlet pipe to the "OUT" port.
    • Connect the water filter to the end of the inlet pipe that will be submerged in your water reservoir.
    • Use T-connectors (three direct links) to branch the main water pipe to individual drippers for each plant.
    • Insert the blue drippers into the soil near the base of each plant, ensuring they are positioned to deliver water directly to the roots.
    • Use pipe clamps to secure the tubing as needed.
  5. Place the Water Filter: Submerge the water filter, attached to the inlet pipe, into your water reservoir (e.g., a bucket, fish tank, or any container with water).

The system's spray flow rate is approximately 400mL/min. The total water output across all drippers should not exceed this rate. Adjust the number of drippers and watering frequency based on the actual water demand of your plants.

5. Operation

The Yieryi Solar Garden Irrigation System features an intuitive interface for setting watering schedules.

5.1 Power On/Off and Manual Watering

  • To turn the device ON or OFF, press and hold the ON/OFF button for 5 seconds.
  • To manually water your plants outside of the scheduled cycle, simply press the ON/OFF button briefly. The pump will run for a short period.

5.2 Setting Watering Time (Min Button)

The system offers 30 levels for watering duration:

  1. Press the Min button to cycle through watering durations from 1 to 30 minutes.
  2. The display will show "01" for 1 minute, "02" for 2 minutes, and so on, up to "29" for 29 minutes. After "29", it cycles to "30" for 30 minutes, then back to "01".
  3. Once the desired watering time is displayed, stop pressing the button. The setting will be saved automatically.

5.3 Setting Interval Time (H Button)

The system offers 10 levels for watering intervals:

  1. Press the H button to cycle through interval durations.
  2. The display will show "3H" for 3 hours, "6H" for 6 hours, "12H" for 12 hours, "1d" for 1 day (24 hours), "2d" for 2 days (48 hours), "3d" for 3 days, "4d" for 4 days, "5d" for 5 days, "6d" for 6 days, and "7d" for 7 days. After "7d", it cycles back to "3H".
  3. Once the desired interval time is displayed, stop pressing the button. The setting will be saved automatically.

5.4 Example Setting: 10 minutes every 2 days

  1. Short press the ON/OFF button for 2 seconds to power on the device.
  2. Double press the Min button until the display shows "10" (for 10 minutes watering time).
  3. Double press the H button until the display shows "2d" (for 2 days interval time).
  4. The setup is complete, and the system will begin its watering cycle.

5.5 Water Level Alarm

The system is equipped with a water level reminder. If the amount of water in your reservoir falls below the warning line, the device will sound an alarm to remind you to refill it. If water is not added after the alarm, the drip irrigation will stop to prevent dry running of the pump.

6. Maintenance

  • Solar Panel Cleaning: Regularly wipe the solar panel surface with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, or debris. A clean panel ensures efficient charging.
  • Water Filter Cleaning: Periodically check and clean the water filter to prevent clogging and ensure consistent water flow. Rinse it under running water to remove any accumulated particles.
  • Water Reservoir: Ensure your water reservoir is always filled above the minimum level to prevent the water level alarm from activating and to ensure continuous operation.
  • Dripper Inspection: Occasionally check the drippers for any blockages or damage. Clean or replace them if necessary to maintain even water distribution.
  • Tubing Inspection: Inspect the tubing for kinks, leaks, or damage. Ensure all connections are secure.
  • Winter Storage: If storing the system during winter or periods of non-use, drain all water from the pipes and pump to prevent freezing damage. Store the controller in a dry, protected area.

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
System not watering
  • Low water level in reservoir
  • Solar panel not charging
  • Pump or filter clogged
  • Incorrect timer settings
  • Battery depleted
  • Refill water reservoir.
  • Ensure solar panel is in direct sunlight and clean.
  • Clean the water filter and check pump for obstructions.
  • Verify watering time and interval settings.
  • Allow solar panel to charge for a full day in direct sunlight.
Weak or inconsistent water flow
  • Clogged filter or drippers
  • Kinked or blocked tubing
  • Controller too high above water source
  • Insufficient water in reservoir
  • Clean filter and drippers.
  • Check tubing for obstructions or kinks.
  • Relocate controller to be within 1.5m of water level.
  • Refill water reservoir.
Water level alarm constantly active
  • Water reservoir is low or empty
  • Sensor malfunction
  • Refill water reservoir immediately.
  • If reservoir is full and alarm persists, contact customer support.
Solar panel not charging battery
  • Insufficient sunlight
  • Dirty solar panel
  • Damaged solar panel or internal battery
  • Relocate panel to a sunnier spot.
  • Clean the solar panel surface.
  • Contact customer support if problem persists after cleaning and repositioning.

8. User Tips

  • Optimize Dripper Placement: For best results, place drippers directly at the base of plants or slightly buried to ensure water reaches the root zone efficiently, minimizing evaporation.
  • Monitor Soil Moisture: Especially when first setting up, manually check soil moisture levels around your plants to fine-tune the watering duration and interval settings for your specific plant types and climate.
  • Consider Water Source: Use a clean water source to prevent clogging of the filter and drippers. If using rainwater, ensure it's filtered before entering the reservoir.
  • Seasonal Adjustments: Adjust watering schedules seasonally. Plants generally require more water in hot, dry weather and less in cooler, humid conditions.
  • Expandability: While the system supports 10-15 pots, consider the total flow rate (400mL/min) when adding more drippers to ensure adequate water delivery to all plants.
