4. Setup Guide

Follow these steps for initial setup:

  1. Insert SIM Card: Locate the SIM card slot on the router. Gently insert a Nano SIM card into the slot until it clicks into place. Ensure the SIM card is correctly oriented.
  2. Connect Power: Connect the included DC 12V/1A power adapter to the router's power port and then plug it into a suitable AC220V power outlet. The router will power on automatically.
  3. Network Connection (Optional): For wired devices, connect an Ethernet cable from one of the router's LAN ports to your device (e.g., computer, gaming console). The router features four 100Mbps LAN ports for high-speed transmission.
  4. Wait for Initialization: Allow a few minutes for the router to boot up and establish a 4G connection. The indicator lights on the router will show its status.

5. Operating Instructions

Once the router is set up and powered on, you can begin using its features:

  • Connect to WiFi: On your wireless devices (smartphones, laptops, tablets), search for available WiFi networks. The router broadcasts an SSID (network name). Select the router's SSID and enter the default WiFi password (usually found on a sticker on the router or in the quick start guide).
  • 4G to WiFi Functionality: The router converts the 4G cellular signal into a WiFi network, allowing up to 32 devices to connect wirelessly.
  • 4G to LAN Functionality: Use the LAN ports to provide internet access to wired devices, leveraging the 4G connection.
  • Signal Coverage: The WiFi 6 signal upgrade provides stronger anti-interference and more stable transmission, enhancing coverage within your indoor environment.

6. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your A10R EC21 router:

  • Keep the router in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture.
  • Avoid placing the router near large metallic objects or other electronic devices that may cause interference.
  • Clean the exterior of the router with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Periodically check for firmware updates (FOTA remote upgrade function is supported) to ensure the router has the latest features and security enhancements.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your router, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • No Internet Connection:
    • Ensure the SIM card is correctly inserted and active with a data plan.
    • Check the router's indicator lights for 4G signal status. If no signal, try repositioning the router.
    • Restart the router by unplugging and re-plugging the power adapter.
  • Slow WiFi Speed:
    • Ensure your devices are within the router's WiFi range.
    • Reduce the number of connected devices if exceeding 32.
    • Check for any physical obstructions or sources of interference.
  • Cannot Connect to WiFi:
    • Verify you are entering the correct WiFi password.
    • Restart both the router and your connecting device.
  • Router Unresponsive / Factory Reset:
    • If the router becomes unresponsive or you need to restore default settings, locate the 'RST' (Reset) button. Press and hold this button for approximately 3 seconds to restore the router to factory settings.

8. User Tips

  • SIM Card Compatibility: The router supports specific frequency bands for Asia, Europe, and Africa. Before purchasing or using, ensure your local SIM card provider's network bands (FDD LTE: B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B20, TDD LTE: B38/B40/B41, WCDMA: B1/B5/B8) are compatible with the router for optimal performance. This is particularly important for users in regions like Italy.
  • Optimal Placement: For the best signal strength and coverage, place the router in a central location in your home or office, away from walls, large appliances, and other electronic devices that might cause interference.
  • Security: Change the default WiFi password and router login credentials immediately after initial setup to enhance network security.
