  • Main Speakers: Connect your main powered speakers or power amplifier to the MAIN OUT (L/R) XLR or 1/4" TRS jacks.
  • Control Room Monitors: Connect control room monitors to the CTRL ROOM (L/R) outputs.
  • Headphones: Plug your headphones into the PHONES jack for monitoring.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Powering On/Off

  1. Before powering on, ensure all channel faders and the main mix faders are at their lowest setting.
  2. Flip the POWER ON/OFF switch to the ON position.
  3. Power on any connected amplifiers or powered speakers after the mixer.
  4. When powering off, reverse the order: power off amplifiers/speakers first, then the mixer.

6.2 Adjusting Input Gain

For each active input channel, slowly turn up the GAIN knob until the channel meter (1 LED signal indication) shows a strong signal without clipping (avoiding the CLIP LED). This sets the optimal input level.

6.3 Using the Equalizer (EQ)

Close-up of the High, Middle, and Low EQ knobs on a mixer channel.Figure 6.1: 3-Band EQ Controls

Each channel features HIGH, MIDDLE, and LOW EQ knobs. Adjust these to shape the tone of the individual input. Turning a knob clockwise boosts the frequency, while turning it counter-clockwise cuts it. The center position is flat (no boost or cut).

6.4 Adjusting Channel Volume and Pan

  • Channel Volume Faders: Use the individual channel faders to set the relative volume of each input in the mix.
  • PAN Knob: Adjust the PAN knob to position the channel's sound between the left and right stereo outputs.

6.5 Activating 48V Phantom Power

If you are using condenser microphones, press the 48V PHANTOM POWER switch to supply the necessary power. Ensure dynamic microphones are not connected when phantom power is active, as it can damage some dynamic microphones.

6.6 Using the MP3/Bluetooth Player

  • Bluetooth Pairing:
    1. Press the MODE button on the MP3/BT player until "BT" or "Bluetooth" is displayed.
    2. On your device (smartphone, tablet), search for Bluetooth devices and select "BT-speaker" to pair.
    3. Once paired, you can stream audio wirelessly to the mixer.
  • USB Playback:
    1. Insert a USB flash drive with audio files into the USB port.
    2. The player should automatically switch to USB mode. Use the PREV, NEXT, PLAY/PAUSE buttons to control playback.
  • PC/MB (Computer) Playback/Recording: Connect the mixer to your computer via USB. The mixer will function as an audio interface, allowing you to play audio from your computer through the mixer or record the mixer's output to your computer.
  • Sound Recording: The mixer supports direct sound recording to a USB drive. Refer to the player's menu for specific recording functions.

6.7 Using Effects

The mixer includes built-in digital effects. Use the EFFECTS controls to select and adjust the desired effect (e.g., reverberation). The AUX knob on each channel can be used to send a portion of that channel's signal to the effects processor.

6.8 Monitoring

  • Headphones: Use the PHONES jack and its dedicated volume control to monitor the main mix or individual channels (when PFL/SOLO is engaged).
  • PFL/SOLO: Pressing the PFL/SOLO button on a channel sends that channel's pre-fader signal to the headphones, allowing you to listen to it in isolation without affecting the main mix.

6.9 Adjusting Main Mix

Once individual channel levels are set, use the MAIN L/R faders to control the overall output volume of the mixer. Monitor the MASTER METERS to ensure the signal does not clip.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly wipe the mixer's surface with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Dust Protection: Keep the mixer covered when not in use to prevent dust accumulation, especially in faders and knobs.
  • Environmental Conditions: Operate and store the mixer in a dry environment, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and excessive humidity.
  • Cable Management: Ensure cables are neatly organized and not under tension to prevent damage to connectors and ports.
  • Ventilation: Do not block the mixer's heat dissipation holes (located on the rear) to ensure proper airflow and prevent overheating.

9. User Tips

  • Gain Staging: Always set your input GAIN levels first, ensuring a strong signal without clipping, before adjusting channel faders and then the main mix faders. This prevents noise and distortion.
  • Headphone Monitoring: Utilize the PFL/SOLO function with headphones to fine-tune individual channel EQs and gain settings without affecting the live mix.
  • Effect Usage: Start with subtle effect levels and gradually increase them to avoid overwhelming the mix.
  • Cable Quality: Invest in good quality, shielded audio cables to minimize interference and ensure clear sound transmission.
  • Bluetooth Name: The Bluetooth name for pairing is typically "BT-speaker".
