1. Product Overview

The GS-200G is a lightweight, high-performance handheld LiDAR system developed by Jishang Navigation. It integrates a Livox Mid-360 laser sensor, professional surveying and mapping cameras, and an independently developed POS system with a built-in GNSS module. This compact design allows for high-precision and stable 3D point cloud acquisition in various environments, both with and without GNSS availability. It is designed for applications such as urban surveying, infrastructure inspection, and digital twin modeling.

2. Setup Guide

  1. 2.1 Unpacking and Inspection

    Carefully unpack the GS-200G system and all accessories. Verify that all components are present and undamaged. Report any discrepancies to your supplier immediately.

  2. 2.2 Charging the Device

    Ensure the device is fully charged before initial use. Connect the provided power adapter to the charging port. The charging indicator will show the charging status.

  3. 2.3 Inserting the MicroSD Card

    Locate the MicroSD card slot. Insert the 128GB MicroSD card (included or recommended) into the slot until it clicks into place. This card is essential for data storage.

  4. 2.4 Initial Power-On

    Press and hold the power button until the device powers on. Allow the system to boot up completely. Perform any initial calibration or software updates as prompted by the system interface.

3. Operating Instructions

  1. 3.1 Operation Modes

    The GS-200G supports multiple operation modes to suit various applications:

    • Handheld Mode: For flexible and detailed scanning in complex environments.
    • Vehicle-Mounted Mode: For rapid data acquisition over larger areas, such as road surveying.
    • Airborne Mode: For aerial mapping and large-scale terrain modeling.
  2. 3.2 Mapping Modes

    The device utilizes advanced SLAM algorithms and supports the following mapping modes:

    • SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping): For real-time mapping and localization in unknown environments.
    • RTK-SLAM (Real-Time Kinematic SLAM): Combines RTK GNSS corrections with SLAM for enhanced absolute accuracy.
    • PPK-SLAM (Post-Processed Kinematic SLAM): Uses post-processed GNSS data for highly accurate mapping.
  3. 3.3 Data Acquisition

    To begin scanning, select the appropriate operation and mapping mode from the device interface. Ensure a clear line of sight to GNSS satellites if using RTK or PPK modes. Move the scanner smoothly through the area of interest, ensuring sufficient overlap for comprehensive data capture. The device will automatically record point cloud data and imagery.

  4. 3.4 Data Processing

    After data acquisition, transfer the data from the MicroSD card to a computer for post-processing using compatible software. The software will utilize the chosen SLAM algorithm to generate high-precision 3D point clouds and models.

4. Maintenance

  • 4.1 Cleaning

    Regularly clean the exterior of the device, especially the LiDAR sensor and camera lenses, using a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth with mild cleaning solution, then wipe dry. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.

  • 4.2 Storage

    Store the GS-200G in a dry, cool environment within the specified operating temperature range (-20°C to 55°C). When not in use for extended periods, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%) to prolong its lifespan. Keep the device in its protective case to prevent physical damage.

  • 4.3 Software Updates

    Periodically check for firmware and software updates from Jishang Navigation to ensure optimal performance and access to new features. Follow the provided instructions for safe update procedures.

5. Troubleshooting

  • 5.1 Device Not Powering On

    Ensure the battery is fully charged. If the issue persists, try connecting the device to the power adapter and attempting to power on again. Contact support if the problem continues.

  • 5.2 Poor Data Quality

    Check that the LiDAR sensor and camera lenses are clean and free from obstructions. Ensure proper scanning techniques are used, including sufficient overlap and smooth movement. Verify that the correct mapping mode is selected for the environment. In GNSS-dependent modes, ensure strong satellite signal reception.

  • 5.3 MicroSD Card Errors

    Ensure the MicroSD card is correctly inserted. If errors persist, try formatting the card (backing up data first) or using a different compatible MicroSD card.
