5. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your BQCC Car MP5 Player, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Keep the screen clean using a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Ensure all cables are securely connected to prevent intermittent issues.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the device yourself, as this will void the warranty.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your device, please refer to the following troubleshooting steps before contacting support.

Q1. Why the car radio can't turn on?

A1:

  1. Check the voltage of the car radio: DC 12V.
  2. When testing, combine the red and yellow wires and connect them to the positive side of the power supply. Connect the black line to the negative power supply.
  3. Replace the same type of fuse to test the car radio.

Note: You must use the provided power cables to connect the car radio. It is not possible to insert the original car plug directly into this machine.

Q2. Why does the car radio show time after we turn it off?

A2: This time clock is a built-in function for the car radio and cannot be removed. It is designed to save time by conveniently displaying the time. If you do not need this feature, you would need to unplug the power supply (both positive and negative terminals).

Q3. Why is there no sound from the car radio when playing music?

A3:

  1. If you are not using the original audio cable, please check if your audio cable is compatible with the device.
  2. Check for any collision or short circuits between the wiring. No sound will be produced if speaker cables touch each other, or if the power cord touches a speaker cable.
  3. If the problem persists, try connecting a single speaker to a group of audio cables to test the car radio. Then, connect the four speaker cables separately to see if sound is produced.

Q4. Why can't I search for FM stations?

A4:

  1. Ensure a radio antenna is properly inserted.
  2. Check if the radio antenna is securely plugged in. Try re-inserting the antenna multiple times to ensure good contact.
  3. The signal in your current location might be weak. Try moving to an area with better reception and test again.
  4. The car's radio antenna might be broken or ineffective. Consider replacing the radio antenna and retesting.

Q5. Why can't I connect Bluetooth to the car radio?

A5:

  1. On your phone, open the settings, enable Bluetooth, search for Bluetooth devices, and find the player's Bluetooth model (default name: CarPlay) to pair. If a pairing code is required, try "0000", "1234", or "123456".
  2. Try using a different mobile phone to test the Bluetooth function. If all methods are correct and Bluetooth still cannot be used, unplug the power plug from the back of the player and plug it back in after 3 minutes.

Q6. How to update GPS Map?

A6: (Note: This device primarily uses phone-based navigation via CarPlay/Android Auto/Mirrorlink. Direct GPS map updates on the device itself may not be applicable unless specified by the manufacturer for a specific model variant.)

If your device supports direct GPS map updates:

  1. Download the map update APK from the manufacturer's website or a trusted source. Alternatively, use your mobile phone's Wi-Fi hotspot to download and install directly. Online navigation can also be used.
  2. Copy the map files to the GPS ROM (if applicable) and set the navigation path within the device's settings to the navigation program.

Q7. Is it possible to listen to music or radio while using navigation?

A7: Yes, it is possible to listen to the radio or music simultaneously while using the navigation system (via CarPlay, Android Auto, or Mirrorlink). The device utilizes technology that allows background audio playback during navigation.

Q8. Do these units support steering wheel control?

A8: Yes, the unit supports steering wheel control. For specific car models, an optional CAN-Bus may be required to integrate with the vehicle's amplifier and steering wheel controls.

Q9. Can we install the units ourselves?

A9: While the device comes with necessary wiring (Power wire, RCA wires, Reversing video input wire, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth antenna, GPS antenna, two USB wires), it is recommended that installation be performed by a professional. The manufacturer is not responsible for damages that might occur to the car's dashboard during self-installation.

7. User Tips

  • For optimal wireless connectivity with CarPlay and Android Auto, ensure your phone's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled and connected to the device.
  • Regularly check for firmware updates from BQCC to ensure the best performance and access to new features.
  • When using Mirrorlink, ensure a stable data cable connection for uninterrupted screen projection.
