3. Setup Guide

3.1 Charging the Keyboard

The keyboard is equipped with a 10000mAh rechargeable battery. Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the keyboard.

1. Connect the provided Type-C USB cable to the keyboard's Type-C port.
2. Connect the other end of the cable to a USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter).
3. The keyboard's indicator light will show charging status (refer to LED indicators in Section 4.1).

3.2 Connecting the Keyboard

The SOLAKAKA Ki99 Pro supports three connection modes: Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4G Wireless, and Type-C Wired.

3.2.1 Type-C Wired Connection

1. Ensure the mode switch on the side of the keyboard is set to 'Wired' (usually indicated by a cable icon or 'USB').
2. Connect the keyboard to your computer using the provided Type-C USB cable.
3. The keyboard will be automatically recognized by your system.

3.2.2 2.4G Wireless Connection

1. Locate the 2.4G wireless receiver (dongle), typically stored in a slot on the keyboard.
2. Plug the 2.4G receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
3. Set the mode switch on the side of the keyboard to '2.4G'.
4. The keyboard should connect automatically. If not, press and hold the 'FN' key and the '2.4G' key (often 'P' or 'R' with a 2.4G icon) for 3-5 seconds to initiate pairing.

3.2.3 Bluetooth 5.0 Connection

1. Set the mode switch on the side of the keyboard to 'BT'.

The keyboard features a dedicated switch for Windows and Mac compatibility. Locate the 'Mac/Win' switch on the side of the keyboard and set it to the appropriate operating system for optimal functionality.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Keyboard Functions

The SOLAKAKA Ki99 Pro functions as a standard 99-key keyboard. All keys perform their labeled functions by default.

4.2 RGB Backlight Control

The keyboard features 16.8 million RGB backlighting with various effects. You can adjust the backlight via shortcut keys, the multifunctional knob, or the dedicated driver software.

• Light Mode Switching: Press FN + V to cycle through different RGB lighting modes.
• Side Light Mode Switching: Press FN + Right Shift to change the side RGB light bar modes.
• Brightness/Speed Adjustment: Use the multifunctional knob (see Section 4.3) or driver software to adjust brightness and animation speed.

4.3 Multifunctional Knob

4.5 Hot-Swappable Switches

The Ki99 Pro features a hot-swappable PCB, allowing you to easily change mechanical switches without soldering. It supports both 3-pin and 5-pin switches.

1. Removing a Keycap: Use the keycap puller to gently pull the keycap straight up.
2. Removing a Switch: Use the switch puller to carefully grip the top and bottom clips of the switch and pull it straight up.
3. Installing a New Switch: Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB. Gently push the switch down until it clicks into place. Ensure the pins are not bent.
4. Installing a Keycap: Place the keycap over the switch stem and push down firmly.

4.6 Adjustable Keyboard Stand

The keyboard includes a 2-layer adjustable stand on the underside, allowing you to set your preferred typing angle for ergonomic comfort.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

• Regularly clean your keyboard to prevent dust and debris buildup.

• RGB backlight not working: Check if the backlight is turned off using the FN key combinations. Ensure the brightness is not set to minimum. If using the driver, verify settings there.
• Specific keys not working: If you have hot-swappable switches, try removing and re-inserting the affected switch. Ensure the switch pins are not bent.
• Connectivity issues (lag/disconnections): For 2.4G wireless, ensure the receiver is close to the keyboard and there are no major obstructions. For Bluetooth, ensure your device's Bluetooth is enabled and there's no interference from other wireless devices.
