1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the High-Precision Mini Laser Distance Meter. This compact and portable device is designed for accurate distance measurements in various applications, including construction, home renovation, and interior design. It features real-time millimeter-level accuracy, a high-definition backlit digital display, and multiple measurement modes to simplify your tasks.

3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

The laser distance meter requires 2 AAA 1.5V batteries (not included) for operation. For safety during transportation, batteries are not pre-installed.

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Slide or open the cover according to the indicator.
  3. Insert two 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3.2 Power On/Off

  • To power on: Press the MEAS button briefly.
  • To power off: Press and hold the MEAS button for approximately 5 seconds. The device will also automatically power off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life.

3.3 Unit Selection

The device supports measurement units in Meters (M) and Feet (FT).

  • To switch units: Press the UNITS button to toggle between M and FT. The selected unit will be displayed on the screen.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Single Distance Measurement

  1. Point the laser at the target object.
  2. Press the MEAS button once. The measured distance will be displayed on the screen.

4.2 Continuous Measurement (Tracking Mode)

  1. Press and hold the MEAS button for a short period (usually 1-2 seconds) until the display shows continuous readings.
  2. Move the device to track the distance in real-time. The maximum and minimum values may also be displayed.
  3. Press the MEAS button again to stop continuous measurement.

4.3 Area Measurement

  1. Enter area measurement mode (refer to your device's specific button for mode selection, often a dedicated mode button or multiple presses of MEAS/FUNC).
  2. Measure the length of the first side.
  3. Measure the length of the second side (width).
  4. The device will automatically calculate and display the area.

4.4 Benchmark Selection

The device allows you to choose the reference point for your measurements:

  • Front Benchmark Mode: Measurements are taken from the front edge of the device.
  • Rear Benchmark Mode: Measurements are taken from the rear edge of the device.

Select the appropriate benchmark mode based on your measurement needs (e.g., measuring from a wall or from the device's position). The display will typically show an icon indicating the active benchmark.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the device in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display to ensure accurate measurements.
  • Laser Safety: This product is a Class II laser device. Do not stare directly into the laser beam or point it at others.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Device does not power on: Check if the batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge. Replace if necessary.
  • Inaccurate readings: Ensure the laser beam has a clear line of sight to the target. Verify that the correct benchmark mode (front or rear) is selected for your measurement. Avoid measuring highly reflective or transparent surfaces directly.
  • Display issues: If the display is dim or flickering, replace the batteries.
  • Error messages: If an error code appears, try restarting the device. If the issue persists, contact customer support. Note that the device has an accuracy of ±(2mm+d*1/10000), so minor variations are expected.
