6. Setup
The POROMETISTO Digital Tester is designed for plug-and-play operation. Follow these steps to set up and begin monitoring:
- Identify Ports: Your tester has an input port and an output port. For Type-C models (UT02C, UT03C), both are Type-C. For the USB-A model (UT01U), the input is USB-A male and the output is USB-A female.
- Connect to Power Source: Plug the tester's input port into your power source (e.g., wall charger, power bank, computer USB port).
- Connect to Device: Plug your charging cable into the tester's output port, and then connect the cable to the device you wish to charge/monitor (e.g., phone, laptop, tablet).
- Power Delivery (PD) Charger Testing (Type-C models only): When testing a PD charger, ensure that both the input and output ends of the tester are connected for the screen to light up and display readings. Connecting only one interface will not activate the display.

7. Operating Instructions
Once connected, the tester will automatically power on and begin displaying real-time data.
7.1 Display Navigation
- Switching Pages: Single-click the button on the side of the tester to cycle through different display pages, showing various parameters and graphical representations (e.g., curve recording on UT03C/UT01U).
- Rotating Screen: Double-click the button to rotate the screen display by 180 degrees. This is useful for different viewing angles or when the device is plugged in an awkward orientation.

7.2 Understanding Displayed Parameters
Refer to the Product Parameters diagrams in Section 5 for detailed explanations of each numbered display element.
- Voltage (V): The electrical potential difference.
- Current (A): The flow rate of electrical charge.
- Power (W): The rate at which electrical energy is transferred.
- Timing (H): Duration of the charging session.
- Capacity (mAh): Accumulated charge transferred.
- Electricity (Wh): Accumulated electrical energy transferred.
- CPU Temperature: Internal temperature of the tester's processor.
- Max Value Record: Records the highest voltage, current, or power observed during a session.
- Current Direction Indicator: Shows the direction of current flow (for bidirectional models).

7.3 Advanced Functions
- Dynamic Time-Division Curve Recording: (UT03C, UT01U) Provides a visual representation of charging data over time, making charging behavior more intuitive.
- CPU Temperature Monitoring: Helps prevent overcharging and burning of equipment by displaying the internal temperature of the tester.

8. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the tester in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Handling: While durable, avoid unnecessary drops or impacts to prolong the life of the device.
9. Troubleshooting
- Display Not Lighting Up (Type-C PD Chargers): Ensure both the input and output ports of the tester are connected to a power source and a device, respectively. For PD chargers, the screen will not activate if only one end is connected.
- Inaccurate Readings: Check all connections to ensure they are secure. Try using different cables or power sources to rule out external factors. Ensure the device is within its specified operating ranges.
- Device Not Responding: Disconnect and reconnect the tester. If the issue persists, try connecting it to a different power source or device.
10. User Tips
- Monitor Charging Efficiency: Use the power (W) and current (A) readings to assess if your charger and cable combination is delivering optimal charging speed for your device.
- Identify Faulty Cables: A significant drop in current or voltage compared to expected values can indicate a faulty or low-quality charging cable.
- Check Power Bank Performance: Monitor the capacity (mAh) and electricity (Wh) readings when charging devices from a power bank to understand its real-world output.
- Prevent Overheating: Keep an eye on the CPU temperature display, especially during high-power charging, to ensure safe operation.
