4. Setup Guide

4.1 Initial Connections

  1. Connect the TV Box to your television using the provided HDMI cable. Ensure the TV is set to the correct HDMI input source.
  2. Connect the power adapter to the DC port on the TV Box and then plug it into a power outlet. The device will automatically boot into the Android OS, and the power LED will turn blue.
  3. For easier navigation, connect a wireless mouse or keyboard receiver to one of the USB 2.0 ports on the TV Box.
  4. (Optional) Insert a TF card into the designated slot or a USB flash drive into a USB 2.0 port for additional storage.

4.2 Network Connection

4.2.1 Wi-Fi Connection

  1. From the Home Screen, navigate to SETTINGS.
  2. Select Network, then choose Wi-Fi and ensure it is turned on.
  3. Select your desired Wi-Fi hotspot from the list of available networks.
  4. Enter the network password and confirm to connect.

4.2.2 Ethernet Connection

  1. From the Home Screen, navigate to SETTINGS.
  2. Select Network, then choose Ethernet.
  3. Connect an Ethernet cable from your router to the RJ-45 port on the TV Box. The network will connect automatically.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off and Sleep Mode

  • Power On: Once connected to the TV and power adapter, the device will automatically power on. The power LED will turn blue.
  • Sleep Mode: Press the power button on the remote control to put the device into sleep mode.
  • Wake Up: Press the power button on the remote control again to wake the device from sleep mode.

5.2 Navigating and Managing Applications

  • Open Applications: Use the remote control's arrow keys to select your desired program and press the OK button to open it.
  • Switch Applications: Click on the "My Apps" icon to view recently used programs. Select a program to switch to it.
  • Close Applications: (Requires Mouse mode) Click the icon to view recently used programs. Click and hold the program icon, then drag it to a blank area to close the application.
  • Return to Home Screen: Click the home icon on the remote control or on-screen to return to the main home screen.

5.3 External Storage Access

  • USB Disk: Insert a USB flash drive or external hard disk into a USB 2.0 port. An icon will appear in the top left corner of the desktop. Open "FileBrowser" to find the identified USB device under "Local Disk".
  • TF Card: Insert a TF card into the device's slot. An icon will appear in the top left corner of the desktop. Open "FileBrowser" to find the identified TF card under "Local Disk" as "External Storage Card".

5.4 WLAN Hotspot Function (AP Mode)

The TV Box can function as a wireless access point if connected to a wired network.

  1. From the Home Screen, navigate to SETTINGS.
  2. Go to NetworkOtherMore...Portable hotspot.
  3. Select "Set up Wi-Fi hotspot" to configure the Network SSID, Security type, and Password.
  4. Ensure the TV Box is connected to a wired Ethernet network for this feature to work.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Firmware Reflash Procedure

To reflash the firmware on your TV Box, follow these steps:

  1. Uncompress the downloaded firmware (ROM) to the root directory of a formatted SD card.
  2. Ensure the TV Box is powered off (power cable unplugged) and no external USB storage devices are attached. Insert the prepared SD card into the TV Box's SD card slot.
  3. Using a toothpick or similar small tool, insert it into the AV port of the Box. Press and hold the hidden button inside the AV port while plugging in the power cable. Do not release the button until you see the "Robert Logo" screen appear on your TV.
  4. The update process will run automatically. Once completed, select "Reboot". You may disregard any errors displayed during the update if they are not relevant to your device.
  5. After the system reboots, check the Wi-Fi functionality by going to Settings > Wi-Fi. Turn on Wi-Fi if it's off and connect to your network.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the TV Box and a working power outlet. Check if the power LED indicator on the box is illuminated (blue when on).
  • No Picture/Signal on TV: Verify that the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the TV Box and your television. Make sure your TV's input source is set to the correct HDMI port.
