3. Package Contents
Please check the package for the following items:
- 1 x A96I-2C012 Host Machine (Main Air Quality Detector)
- Up to 5 x Wireless Sub-Machine Sensors (Quantity may vary based on purchase option)
- 1 x USB Type-C Charging Cable (for Host Machine)
- User Manual (this document)

4. Setup Instructions
4.1 Powering the Devices
- Host Machine: Connect the host machine to a 5V/1A USB power adapter using the provided Type-C USB cable. The host unit has a built-in battery that lasts approximately 9 hours on a full charge.
- Sub-Machine Sensors: Each sub-machine sensor requires 2 x AAA batteries (1000MAH recommended). These batteries typically provide power for about 12 months. Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity.
4.2 WIFI Pairing (Host Machine)
To connect the host machine to your WIFI network:
- Ensure the host machine is powered on and within a strong WIFI signal area.
- Within 5 minutes of turning on the device, or by pressing the host unit's button 5 times continuously, the WIFI symbol on the display will flash quickly. This indicates that the device is in pairing mode.
- If the WIFI symbol blinks slowly, the pairing was unsuccessful. If the WIFI symbol stops blinking and remains steady, the pairing is successful.
- Follow the instructions in the Tuya APP to complete the WIFI connection.
4.3 Host and Sensor Pairing
To pair the sub-machine sensors with the host unit:
- Ensure the host machine is powered on. Within 5 minutes of power-on (or restart if more than 5 minutes have passed), press and hold the host unit's button for 1 second. The host will emit a buzzer sound, and the CH1, CH2, CH3, CH4, CH5 indicators will blink quickly, entering wireless pairing mode.
- While the host is in pairing mode, press the button on the sub-machine sensor four times continuously. The sensor's CH1 symbol will blink quickly. Press the sensor button again to cycle through CH1-CH5 for pairing.
- If the sensor's CH symbol stops blinking after 30 seconds, the pairing is successful.
- Repeat this process for each sub-machine sensor. A maximum of five sensors can be paired, corresponding to CH1 through CH5 on the host display.
- After pairing, the temperature and humidity data from the sensor will be displayed on the right side of the host unit.
- Place the paired sensors in different temperature and humidity areas you wish to monitor.
Important Notes:
- The general indoor wireless transmission distance is approximately 30 meters. In open areas without interference, the maximum distance can be up to 60 meters.
- Avoid placing sensors near metal objects, as this can interfere with wireless transmission.
- When the host is plugged in for USB charging, the wireless transmission distance may be extended.
- The sensor transmits data every 30-40 seconds, and the host updates its display accordingly. Minor inconsistencies in data between the sensor and host are normal during this interval.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the device and sensors with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Replacement: Replace AAA batteries in sub-machine sensors when the battery symbol indicates low power. Ensure correct polarity.
- Charging: Keep the host unit charged via the Type-C USB port.
- Environmental Conditions: Avoid exposing the devices to extreme temperatures, high humidity, or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
- Storage: If storing the device for an extended period, remove batteries from the sub-machine sensors and ensure the host unit is fully charged before storage.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| WIFI symbol blinks slowly on host. | WIFI pairing unsuccessful. | Ensure strong WIFI signal. Re-enter pairing mode by pressing the host button 5 times continuously. Follow Tuya APP instructions. |
| Sensor data not appearing on host or inconsistent. | Sensor not paired, out of range, or low battery. Data transmission delay. | Check sensor batteries. Re-pair sensor with host (see Section 4.3). Ensure sensor is within 30m (indoor) or 60m (open area) of the host. Wait 30-40 seconds for data to update. Avoid metal obstructions. |
| Host unit not turning on or holding charge. | Low battery or charging issue. | Connect host to a 5V/1A USB power source using the Type-C cable. Ensure the cable and adapter are functional. |
| Sub-machine sensor display is blank. | No batteries or low batteries. | Insert 2 x AAA batteries or replace existing ones. Ensure correct polarity. |
| Inaccurate readings. | Sensor placement, environmental factors. | Ensure sensors are placed in representative areas, away from direct drafts, heat sources, or extreme humidity. Allow time for readings to stabilize after placement. |
