Setup Instructions

1. Battery Installation (BKV-501 Basic Model)

For models requiring battery installation (e.g., BKV-501), insert a coin into the gap of the battery cover and rotate counter-clockwise to open. Mount a CR2032 battery with the anode (+) side facing up, towards the battery cover. Close the cover by rotating clockwise.

2. Bracket Installation

The bike computer can be installed on the crossbar of the bike or on the handlebar. Use the included rubber ring to fix the bracket securely. For stem attachment, adjust the bracket direction as shown in the diagram. Ensure a rubber pad is placed under the bracket for stability.

3. Computer Installation

Switch the computer into position by rotating it 45° to the left. Then, insert it into the bracket and fix it by rotating clockwise until it is securely in place, aligned with the bracket.

4. Magnet Installation (for BKV-501 models with speed sensor)

Position the magnet on the wheel wire closest to the fork, at the same height as the speed sensor. Secure the threaded contact. The cable must be inserted into the specified groove. Ensure the distance between the transmitter and magnet is less than 5mm, and they do not touch during riding.

5. Transmitter Installation (for BKV-501 models with speed sensor)

Fix the wireless transmitter on the same side of the front fork as the computer bracket. If the bracket is mounted on the stem, the transmitter can be fixed on either side of the fork. Maintain a maximum distance of 60cm between the transmitter and the computer (within a 30° range). Place the transmitter with the "sensor" side closer to the magnet (on the inner side).

6. Wheel Circumference Setting

Accurate wheel circumference setting is crucial for precise speed and distance measurements. You can determine the circumference using two methods:

  1. Reference Table: Find your wheel size in the table below and use the corresponding perimeter.
  2. Direct Measurement: Mark a point on your wheel and the ground. Roll the bicycle exactly one full rotation, then measure the distance traveled on the ground. This distance is your wheel circumference (in mm). For best accuracy, sit on the bicycle while measuring (recommended with two people).

Operation

Functions Overview

  • Clock: Displays time in 12-hour or 24-hour format.
  • Trip Distance (DST): Shows the distance traveled since the last data reset.
  • Total Distance (ODO): Indicates the total accumulated distance traveled. This value can be set in setup mode.
  • Maximum Speed (MXS): Records the highest speed achieved since the last data reset.
  • Average Speed (AVS): Calculated from the measured speed and total riding time since the last data reset.
  • Trip Ride Time (RTM): Displays the duration of the current ride since the last data reset.
  • Total Ride Time (TTM): Shows the total accumulated riding time. This value can be set in setup mode.
  • Temperature: Displays the current ambient temperature (for models with this feature).

Data Reset

To reset the measured data (Trip Distance, Maximum Speed, Average Speed, Trip Ride Time), press and hold the SET button for 3 seconds. A "RESET" warning will appear and blink twice, indicating that the data has been erased to 0.

Maintenance

Battery Charging

Charge the computer using only the supplied USB cable (Type-C for BKV-3101/3001, Micro USB 2.0 for BKV-501). Using other cables may cause damage. Always unplug the cable after charging. Do not leave the device unattended while charging. Ensure the USB port is covered by its lid after charging to maintain water resistance. The battery may warm up during charging. For optimal battery life, several partial charging cycles are better than a single full cycle. Avoid ultra-fast, high-capacity charging. If storing the device for an extended period, charge the battery before storage (recharge at least once every 6 months). Do not charge or use a damaged computer. Do not exceed 5V input for charging.

General Care and Precautions

  • Always pay attention to the road and traffic while riding.
  • Regularly check the distance between the speed sensor and magnets (for BKV-501) to ensure proper function.
  • Wireless interference may occur near smart phones, computers, power banks, lights, other wireless devices, high voltage sources, or railroad crossings.
  • Always dismount the computer when cleaning the bicycle or for outdoor storage (protect from rain and snow).
  • Battery capacity may reduce to 70-80% after 300-500 charging cycles. Capacity decreases at lower temperatures.
  • Do not expose the computer to high temperatures (+40°C, e.g., inside a hot car), low temperatures (below 0°C), high humidity, or direct sunlight. Store in a cool, dry place, away from children, heat sources, and flammable materials.
  • Do not submerge the device in water. While water-resistant (IPX7), it is recommended to store it in a dry place during heavy rain.
  • Do not clean with water or aggressive cleaners. Use a soft, damp cloth.
  • Do not disassemble or modify the computer, battery, or accessories.
