4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Installation Position and Direction

Important Considerations:

  1. Do not reverse the inlet/drain ports of the water valve.
  2. The position of the water outlet should be higher than the position of the water inlet.
  3. When the water temperature falls below 0°C and freezes, the water valve may not be able to open and close. The sensor in the water valve can detect a minimum water temperature of -10°C.
  4. When installing the water valve, be sure to wrap the waterproof tape to prevent water leakage.

Suggested Installation Location: Indoor main water inlet.

4.2 Water Pipe Installation

Tools Needed: Adjustable spanner, Allen wrench.

Installation Steps:

  1. Turn off the main water valve.
  2. Wrap waterproof tape around the adapter threads.
  3. Align the adapter with the municipal water main and tighten using an Allen wrench.
  4. Wrap waterproof tape around the copper pipe of the water valve and insert the waterproof silicone gasket into the adapter.
  5. Tighten the adapter nuts with the wrench.
  6. Install the other side of the water valve using the same method.

6. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Haozee Smart WiFi Water Valve, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Regular Cleaning: Periodically inspect the valve and connections for any debris or buildup. Clean gently with a soft cloth.
  • Battery Check: The built-in Ni-MH rechargeable battery provides backup power. Ensure the device is regularly connected to external power to keep the battery charged.
  • Connection Integrity: Periodically check all pipe and power connections to ensure they are secure and free from leaks. Re-apply waterproof tape if necessary.
  • Temperature Monitoring: Avoid exposing the valve to temperatures below 0°C (32°F) to prevent freezing, which can impair valve operation.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Device Not Pairing: If the blue pairing indicator light is not flashing, long press the Access Key for 6 seconds to enter pairing mode. Ensure your phone's Bluetooth is active for easier pairing.
  • No Remote Control via App in Battery Mode: This is normal behavior. In battery backup mode, WiFi automatically turns off, and remote app control is disabled. You can still control the valve locally using the physical buttons.
  • Valve Not Operating (Battery Mode): If the battery voltage falls below 3.8V, local control may be unavailable. If it drops below 3.5V, the valve will automatically close and shut down. Ensure the device is connected to external power to charge the battery.
  • Water Leakage: Check all pipe connections and ensure waterproof tape was applied correctly during installation. Tighten connections if loose.
  • Valve Not Opening/Closing in Cold Weather: The valve may not operate if water temperature falls below 0°C due to freezing. Ensure the device is installed in an environment within its specified working temperature range (1-60°C).

7.1 User Tips

  • Changing Flow Units: You can change the flow unit (e.g., from gallons to liters) by pressing and holding the On/Off switch for 6 seconds until the flow unit flashes, then use the Access Key to cycle through units and press On/Off once to confirm. Alternatively, this setting can be adjusted within the Smart Life app.
