5.3 PIR Motion Detection
The camera is equipped with a professional PIR (Passive Infrared) human body sensor. This effectively reduces false alarms by primarily detecting human movement. It ignores non-human activities like flying insects, rustling leaves, light changes, and pet movements, saving video storage space and battery life.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the camera lenses and solar panel surface with a soft, damp cloth to ensure optimal performance and charging efficiency. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Solar Panel Position: Periodically check that the solar panel is free from obstructions (e.g., leaves, dirt) and is positioned to receive maximum direct sunlight.
- Firmware Updates: Check the Neye 3C app for any available firmware updates to ensure your camera has the latest features and security enhancements.
- Battery Health: While designed for continuous power, monitor the camera's battery status via the app, especially during prolonged periods of low sunlight.
7. Troubleshooting
- Camera Not Powering On: Ensure the power switch is in the 'ON' position and the solar panel is connected. Allow sufficient time for initial charging if the battery is depleted.
- No 4G Connection: Verify the SIM card is correctly inserted and activated with a data plan. Check for network coverage in the installation area. The camera will announce "4G connection successful" upon establishing a connection.
- App Connection Issues: Ensure your phone has internet access. Re-scan the camera's QR code in the Neye 3C app. If issues persist, try restarting both the camera and the app.
- Forgot Password: If you forget your device password, long-press the reset button on the camera (located near the card slots) until it beeps and releases. The password will be reset to the default (usually '123456'). You will then need to change it via the app.
- Charging Indicator Light Status:
- Always lit: Charging in progress.
- Blinking: Insufficient sunlight for effective charging.
- Not lit: Not charging (either fully charged, no power, or power switch is OFF).
- Frequent False Alarms: Review the camera's PIR settings in the app. Adjust sensitivity or detection zones to minimize triggers from non-human sources.
8. User Tips
- Optimal Solar Charging: Position the solar panel in an area that receives at least 4-6 hours of direct sunlight daily, even on cloudy days, to ensure continuous power.
- Data Plan Management: Monitor your 4G data usage through your SIM card provider or the Neye 3C app to avoid service interruptions.
- Secure Password: Always change the default password immediately after setup to a strong, unique password to protect your camera from unauthorized access.
- Regular Checks: Periodically check the live feed and recorded events to ensure the camera is functioning as expected and capturing relevant activity.
