3. Product Overview
Familiarize yourself with the ports and indicators on your docking station:
- SATA1, SATA2, SATA3 Bays: Slots for inserting 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA HDDs/SSDs.
- USB 3.0 Ports (Front): Two additional USB 3.0 ports for connecting other peripherals.
- Clone Button: Initiates the offline cloning process.
- Progress Indicators (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%): LEDs indicating the progress of an offline clone operation.
- SATA Indicators (SATA1, SATA2, SATA3): LEDs indicating drive activity for each bay.
- USB 3.0 Port (Rear): Connects the docking station to your computer.
- ON/OFF Switch: Powers the docking station on or off.
- DC 12V Power Input: Connects to the included power adapter.
4. Setup
- Connect Power: Connect the 12V power adapter to the DC 12V power input port on the rear of the docking station, then plug the adapter into a power outlet.
- Connect to Computer (Optional for Cloning): If you intend to use the docking station with your computer, connect one end of the USB 3.0 data cable to the USB 3.0 port on the rear of the docking station and the other end to an available USB 3.0 port on your computer.
- Insert Drives: Gently insert your 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA HDDs/SSDs into the SATA1, SATA2, and/or SATA3 bays. Ensure they are firmly seated.
- Power On: Flip the ON/OFF switch on the rear of the docking station to the 'ON' position. The power indicator LED should light up.
5. Operating Modes
5.1. Direct Connection to Computer
Once connected to your computer via USB 3.0 and powered on, the inserted drives will appear as individual storage devices in your operating system (e.g., 'My Computer' on Windows, 'Finder' on macOS). You can then access, transfer, and manage files as you would with any other external drive.
- Ensure the docking station is powered on.
- Connect the USB 3.0 cable to your computer.
- Insert up to three SATA HDDs/SSDs into the bays.
- The drives should be automatically detected by your operating system.
5.2. Offline Cloning (Stand-alone Duplication)
The offline cloning function allows you to duplicate a source drive to one or two target drives without needing a computer. The target drive(s) must be equal to or larger in capacity than the source drive.
- Prepare Drives: Ensure both the source and target drives are free of errors. Backup any data on the target drive(s) as all data will be overwritten during cloning.
- Insert Source Drive: Insert the source HDD/SSD (the drive you want to copy FROM) into the SATA1 bay.
- Insert Target Drive(s): Insert the target HDD/SSD(s) (the drive(s) you want to copy TO) into the SATA2 and/or SATA3 bays.
- Disconnect from PC: Ensure the USB 3.0 cable is disconnected from your computer. The docking station must be in stand-alone mode for cloning.
- Power On: Turn on the docking station using the ON/OFF switch.
- Initiate Clone: Press and hold the 'Clone' button for approximately 3-5 seconds until the progress indicator LEDs (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) begin to flash.
- Confirm Clone: Release the button, then quickly press it again to confirm the cloning process. The 25% LED will light up solid, and the other LEDs will flash sequentially, indicating cloning has started.
- Monitor Progress: The progress indicator LEDs will light up sequentially (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) as the cloning progresses.
- Cloning Complete: All progress indicator LEDs will light up solid when the cloning process is 100% complete.
- Power Off: Turn off the docking station and safely remove the drives.
Important: Data on the target drive(s) will be erased during cloning. Always ensure you have backed up any important data before starting the cloning process.

8. Troubleshooting
- Q: Drives are not detected by the computer.
-
- Ensure the docking station is powered on and the power adapter is securely connected.
- Verify the USB 3.0 cable is securely connected to both the docking station and your computer.
- Try connecting to a different USB port on your computer.
- Ensure the drives are properly seated in their bays.
- Check Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (macOS) to see if the drives are recognized but uninitialized or unformatted. New drives may need to be initialized and formatted before use.
- If using for cloning, ensure the USB cable is disconnected from the computer.
- Q: Offline cloning fails or does not start.
-
- Ensure the USB cable is disconnected from the computer. Offline cloning requires the docking station to be stand-alone.
- Verify the source drive is in SATA1 and target drive(s) are in SATA2 and/or SATA3.
- Confirm that the target drive(s) capacity is equal to or larger than the source drive.
- Ensure the drives are securely inserted.
- Follow the cloning steps precisely: press and hold the 'Clone' button until LEDs flash, then quickly press again to confirm.
- Check for any bad sectors on the source or target drives. A faulty drive can cause cloning to fail.
- Q: Data transfer speeds are slow.
-
- Ensure you are connected to a USB 3.0 port on your computer. USB 2.0 ports will result in slower speeds.
- The actual speed depends on the performance of your hard drives.
- Avoid transferring many small files simultaneously, as this can reduce overall transfer rates.
9. User Tips
- For optimal performance, always use the provided USB 3.0 cable and power adapter.
- When inserting drives, ensure they are aligned correctly with the SATA connectors to prevent damage.
- Always safely eject drives from your operating system before powering off the docking station or removing drives to prevent data corruption.
- If using the front USB 3.0 ports for other devices, ensure the docking station has sufficient power and is connected to a computer.
