1. Setup and First Use

1.1 Unpacking and Initial Cleaning

Carefully remove all packaging materials from the kettle and its base. Before first use, fill the kettle with clean water to the maximum fill line, boil it, and then discard the water. Repeat this process 2-3 times to remove any manufacturing residues.

1.2 Placement

Place the kettle base on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the countertop and out of reach of children. Ensure the power cord is not dangling.

1.3 App Connection (AigoSmart App)

1. Download the 'AigoSmart' app from your smartphone's app store.
2. Register or log in to your AigoSmart account.
3. Plug in the kettle. The kettle's indicator light should be blinking, indicating it's in pairing mode.
4. In the app, tap '+' to add a new device. Select 'Electric Kettle' or search for your device.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the kettle to your home Wi-Fi network. The app will guide you through the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection process.

1.4 Voice Assistant Setup (Alexa/Google Assistant)

Once connected to the AigoSmart app, you can link your kettle to Alexa or Google Assistant:

1. Open your Alexa or Google Home app.
2. Navigate to 'Skills & Games' (Alexa) or 'Works with Google' (Google Home).
3. Search for 'AigoSmart' and enable the skill/service.
4. Link your AigoSmart account when prompted.
5. Discover devices. Your Aigostar Smart Kettle should now appear and be controllable via voice commands.

2. Operating Instructions

2.1 Filling the Kettle

Open the lid and fill the kettle with fresh, cold water. Do not fill below the minimum mark or above the maximum mark (1.7L). Close the lid securely.

2.2 Powering On and Boiling

Place the kettle firmly on its base. Press the power button on the handle or use the AigoSmart app to start boiling. The kettle will automatically shut off once the water reaches boiling point (100°C).

2.3 Temperature Selection

The Aigostar Smart Kettle offers precise temperature control for various beverages:

• Manual Control: Use the temperature buttons on the handle to select preset temperatures (e.g., 40°C, 70°C, 80°C, 90°C, 100°C).
• App Control: Use the AigoSmart app to set a precise temperature between 40-90°C in 5°C increments.

2.4 Keep Warm Function

Activate the 'Keep Warm' function via the AigoSmart app or the kettle's handle buttons. The kettle can maintain the desired temperature for 1-12 hours (continuous keep warm via app). This is ideal for baby feeding or enjoying multiple cups of tea/coffee.

2.5 Scheduled Brewing

Use the AigoSmart app to set a scheduled start time for your kettle to boil water. This allows you to have hot water ready exactly when you need it, for example, for your morning coffee or tea.

3. Maintenance and Cleaning

3.1 Descaling Recommendations

Hard water can lead to limescale deposits inside the kettle. To minimize this, use filtered or distilled water. For cleaning:

1. Fill the kettle with a mixture of water and citric acid or white vinegar (e.g., 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water).
2. Boil the mixture.
3. Let it stand for 15-30 minutes (or longer for heavy scale).
4. Pour out the mixture and rinse the interior thoroughly with clean water several times.

3.2 Cleaning the Exterior

Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.

3.3 Cleaning the Interior

The kettle features a food-grade 304 stainless steel interior with no plastic contact with water. For general cleaning, simply rinse with water. For stubborn stains, use a soft brush or sponge with mild dish soap, then rinse thoroughly.

4. Troubleshooting

Kettle does not turn on or heat water:

Ensure the kettle is properly seated on its base and the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet. Check if the circuit breaker has tripped.

App connectivity issues:

Ensure your Wi-Fi network is active and the kettle is within range. Restart your router, the kettle, and your smartphone. Re-pair the device in the AigoSmart app if necessary.

Limescale buildup:

Refer to the 'Descaling Recommendations' in the Maintenance section. Regular descaling is crucial for optimal performance and longevity.

Water tastes metallic or unusual:

Perform the initial cleaning steps (boiling and discarding water) multiple times. If the issue persists, ensure you are using fresh, clean water.
