1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Aigostar 2-Slice Retro Toaster. This appliance combines a stylish creamy white, retro design with modern functionality to provide perfectly toasted bread every time. Made from high-quality stainless steel, it features extra-wide slots, 6 browning levels, and 4 specialized functions: Bagel, Defrost, Reheat, and Cancel. For your convenience, it also includes a removable crumb tray and integrated cord storage.

2. Important Safety Instructions

Please read these instructions carefully before using the toaster and retain them for future reference. Improper use can result in personal injury or damage to the appliance.

  • Always ensure the toaster is placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from flammable materials.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Always use handles or knobs.
  • Do not immerse the toaster, cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
  • Unplug from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.

Components:

  • Toasting Slots: Two extra-wide slots (4 x 14 cm) for various bread types.
  • Toasting Lever: Lowers the bread into the toaster and initiates the toasting cycle.
  • Browning Control Dial: Adjusts the browning level from 1 (lightest) to 6 (darkest).
  • Cancel Button: Stops the toasting cycle at any time.
  • Bagel/Muffin Button: Activates the bagel function for one-sided toasting.
  • Reheat Button: Warms up cold toast without further browning.
  • Defrost Button: Defrosts and toasts frozen bread.
  • Removable Crumb Tray: Collects crumbs for easy cleaning.
  • Cord Storage: Located at the bottom of the toaster for neat storage.

4. Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove the toaster and all packaging materials.
  2. Placement: Place the toaster on a clean, dry, stable, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the toaster.
  3. First Use: Before toasting bread for the first time, operate the toaster without bread on the highest browning setting (6) to burn off any manufacturing residues. A slight odor or smoke may be present; this is normal. Allow the toaster to cool completely.
  4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a suitable 240V electrical outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

This toaster features an 800W power output and self-centering guides for even toasting.

5.1. Toasting Bread

  1. Insert up to two slices of bread into the toasting slots. The extra-wide slots (4 x 14 cm) accommodate various bread types.
  2. Select your desired browning level using the browning control dial (1-6). Level 1 is for light toast, and Level 6 is for dark toast.
  3. Press the toasting lever down until it locks into place. The indicator light will illuminate, and the toasting cycle will begin.
  4. Once the selected browning level is achieved, the toast will automatically pop up, and the toaster will switch off.

5.2. Bagel Function

The Bagel function is designed for one-sided toasting, perfect for bagels and muffins.

  1. Insert your bagel or muffin halves into the toasting slots.
  2. Select your desired browning level.
  3. Press the toasting lever down, then press the Bagel/Muffin button. The indicator light on the button will illuminate.
  4. The toaster will toast the cut side of the bagel/muffin while gently warming the other side.

5.3. Defrost Function

Use the Defrost function to defrost and toast frozen bread.

  1. Insert frozen bread into the toasting slots.
  2. Select your desired browning level.
  3. Press the toasting lever down, then press the Defrost button. The indicator light on the button will illuminate.
  4. The toaster will automatically adjust the toasting time to first defrost and then toast the bread.

5.4. Reheat Function

The Reheat function allows you to warm up cold toast without further browning.

  1. Insert cold toast into the toasting slots.
  2. Press the toasting lever down, then press the Reheat button. The indicator light on the button will illuminate.
  3. The toaster will briefly warm the toast and then automatically pop it up.

5.5. Cancel Function

To stop the toasting cycle at any time, simply press the Cancel button. The toasting lever will immediately pop up, and the toaster will switch off.

5.6. High-Lift Lever

For smaller items like English muffins or small slices of bread, the toasting lever can be manually lifted higher after the cycle completes, making it easier and safer to retrieve them without touching hot surfaces.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your toaster.

  1. Unplug and Cool: Always unplug the toaster from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Empty Crumb Tray: Pull out the removable crumb tray from the bottom of the toaster. Discard accumulated crumbs. Wipe the tray clean with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly before reinserting.
  3. Clean Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the toaster with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, metal scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
  4. Clean Interior: Never insert any objects into the toasting slots to clean them. If food becomes lodged, unplug the toaster and carefully turn it upside down to dislodge the food.
  5. Cord Storage: When not in use, the power cord can be wrapped around the cord storage area on the bottom of the toaster for neat and compact storage.

7. Troubleshooting
