- PWM Speed Controller Module (CNY-FA5-PRO) x 1
6. Setup and Installation
Carefully follow the wiring instructions below. Ensure all connections are secure before applying power.

6.1 Power Input (DC-INTUP)
- Connect your DC 8-24V power supply to the red 2-pin terminal block labeled "DC-INTUP +8-24V".
- Ensure correct polarity: connect the positive (+) wire to the '+' terminal and the negative (-) wire to the '-' terminal.
- Alternatively, power can be supplied via the XH2.54 socket. The terminals of this socket are connected to the positive and negative terminals of the "DC-INTUP" block separately.
6.2 Motor/Fan Connection (MOTOR-1)
- For 4-wire or 5-wire brushless DC motors/fans, connect the motor's power lines to the black 4-pin terminal block labeled "MOTOR-1".
- Connect the motor's positive (+) line to the '+' terminal and the negative (-) line to the '-' terminal.
- Connect the PWM/CLK signal control input wire from your motor/fan to the terminal labeled "PWM". This terminal outputs a 0-100% duty cycle, 5V square wave signal.
- For fans with 2510-4P motherboard fan plugs, connect them to the dedicated "FAN-1" socket. The pinout is typically Blue (P), Yellow (S), Red (+), Black (-).
Note: The XH2.54 socket can also be used as a power output for other peripheral equipment, provided the total current draw does not exceed 5A.
7. Operating Instructions
- Once all connections are made and verified, apply power to the "DC-INTUP" terminals.
- The speed of the connected brushless DC motor or fan is controlled by rotating the potentiometer knob.
- Rotate the knob clockwise to increase the speed (increase PWM duty cycle).
- Rotate the knob counter-clockwise to decrease the speed (decrease PWM duty cycle).
- The potentiometer knob features a built-in power switch. When rotated fully counter-clockwise to the minimum position, you will hear a "click" sound, indicating that the input power supply to the module and the connected fan/motor has been cut off.
8. Maintenance
- Regularly inspect all wiring connections for looseness or damage.
- Keep the module clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
- Avoid exposing the module to direct sunlight or high humidity, which can affect its performance and lifespan.
- Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the module, as this will void any potential warranty and could lead to damage or injury.
9. Troubleshooting
- No Power/No Operation:
- Check if the power supply is connected correctly and providing the specified voltage (DC 8-24V).
- Ensure the potentiometer knob is not in the "off" position (fully counter-clockwise until a click is heard).
- Verify all wiring connections are secure and correct.
- Motor/Fan Not Responding to Speed Adjustment:
- Confirm that the motor/fan is a brushless DC type with PWM/CLK signal control input.
- Check the connection of the PWM signal wire to the "PWM" terminal.
- Ensure the motor/fan is not faulty.
- Overheating:
- Verify that the connected load (motor/fan) does not exceed the maximum 5A current rating of the controller.
- Ensure adequate ventilation around the controller module.
10. User Tips
- For optimal performance, use shielded cables for PWM signal connections, especially in environments with electrical noise.
- When integrating into a project, consider mounting the module in an enclosure that allows for good airflow to prevent heat buildup.
- Always double-check your wiring against the diagram before applying power to avoid accidental damage.
