5. Maintenance and Cleaning
- Always unplug the kettle from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Kettle Body and Lid: Wash with warm soapy water and a soft sponge. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Tea Filter: Remove the tea filter and rinse it under running water. Use a small brush if necessary to remove any residue.
- Heating Base: Wipe the heating base with a soft, damp cloth. Never immerse the heating base in water or any other liquid.
- Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up inside the kettle, especially in hard water areas. To descale, fill the kettle with a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar (or a commercial descaling solution according to its instructions). Bring the mixture to a boil and let it stand for at least 30 minutes, or longer for heavy buildup. Empty the kettle, rinse thoroughly several times, and boil fresh water a few times to remove any residual vinegar taste.
- Storage: Store the clean and dry kettle and its base in a safe, dry place. The base features a winding design for easy cord storage.
