- Turn on the RC vehicle. The remote controller and vehicle should automatically pair. If not, refer to the troubleshooting section.
6. Operation
6.1. Remote Controller Functions

- Steering Wheel: Controls left and right steering.
- Forward/Backward Trigger: Controls throttle for forward and reverse movement.
- Gear Switching: Button to switch between high, low, and neutral speeds.
- Mode Switch: Changes steering modes (Front-wheel, Rear-wheel, Same-direction 4-wheel, Opposite-direction 4-wheel).
- Power Switch: Turns the remote controller on/off.
- Light Switch: Controls vehicle lights.
- Fine-Tuning Knobs: Adjust steering and throttle center positions.
6.2. Gearbox Operation
The vehicle features a controllable mechanical gearbox with reverse transmission. Use the 'Gear Switching' button on the remote control to cycle through the following modes:
- High Speed: For faster driving on open terrain.
- Low Speed: For crawling and precise control over challenging obstacles.
- Neutral: Disengages the drive train.
6.3. Steering Modes
The remote control allows switching between four distinct steering modes using the 'Mode Switch' button:
- Front-Wheel Steering: Standard steering, only the front wheels turn.
- Rear-Wheel Steering: Only the rear wheels turn, useful for tight turns.
- Front and Rear Wheels Steering in the Same Direction: All four wheels turn in the same direction, enhancing maneuverability.
- Front and Rear Wheels Steering in the Opposite Direction: Front and rear wheels turn in opposite directions, allowing for very tight turns and crabbing movements.

7. Maintenance and Upgrades
7.1. General Maintenance
- After each use, clean the vehicle to remove dirt, dust, and debris. Use a soft brush or compressed air.
- Inspect all moving parts, including wheels, axles, and suspension, for any damage or loose connections.
- Ensure all screws are tightened appropriately.
- Store the vehicle and battery in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
7.2. Upgradable Components
The UdiRC UCX2402 is designed with several upgradable components to enhance performance and customization:
- Differentials: The front and rear straight axles do not come with differentials but can be upgraded to differential versions for improved handling on certain terrains.
- Lighting System: The vehicle comes with factory standard front headlights. Rear brake lights, turn signals, fog lights, and high position lamps can be upgraded. The installation diagram for the electric light cord uses SH1.25 plugs (2P/3P/4P are available).
- Motor and ESC: The mid-mounted brushed 130 motor and integrated 30A ESC can be upgraded to brushless motor and ESC systems for increased power and efficiency.
- Metal Parts: Important parts can be upgraded with metal components for enhanced durability and performance.

8. Troubleshooting
- Vehicle not responding: Ensure both the vehicle and remote controller are powered on and batteries are charged. Check for proper pairing.
- Poor range or interference: Ensure you are operating in an open area away from other 2.4GHz devices.
- Reduced performance: Check battery charge level. Inspect for any obstructions in the drivetrain or wheels.
- Steering issues: Use the fine-tuning knobs on the remote control to adjust steering center. Check for damage to the steering servo or linkages.
9. User Tips
- Always fully charge your battery before each session for maximum run time and performance.
- Experiment with the different steering modes and gearbox speeds to find the best setup for various terrains and driving styles.
- Consider upgrading key components like the motor or differentials as your skills and demands evolve.
- Regularly check for loose screws, especially after intense off-road sessions, to prevent parts from falling off.
