4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Camera

4.2 Inserting a TF Card

The camera does not have built-in memory and requires a MicroSD (TF) card for storage.

  1. Ensure the camera is powered off.
  2. Locate the TF card slot on the side of the camera.
  3. Gently insert a TF card (up to 256GB, Class 10 or higher recommended) into the slot until it clicks into place.
  4. To remove, push the card in slightly until it springs out.

4.3 Mounting the Camera

The L15 camera features a back clip and a 1/4'' threaded hole for versatile mounting:

  • Back Clip: Use the integrated clip to attach the camera to clothing, backpacks, or other suitable surfaces for hands-free recording.

4.4 Companion App Installation (for WiFi Mode)

To utilize the WiFi hotspot and remote monitoring features, you will need to download a companion application to your smartphone. 5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

  • Power On: Slide the On/Off switch to the 'ON' position. The indicator light will illuminate.
  • Power Off: Slide the On/Off switch to the 'OFF' position. The indicator light will turn off.

5.2 Switching Recording Modes (WIFI/DV)

The camera supports two main recording modes:

  • DV Mode: For direct video recording without WiFi connection. Slide the WIFI/DV mode switch to 'DV'.
  • WiFi Mode: For remote monitoring and control via the companion app. Slide the WIFI/DV mode switch to 'WIFI'.

5.3 One-Click Recording and Capturing

  • Video Recording: In either DV or WiFi mode, press the 'Video/Pause' button once to start recording. Press again to pause.
  • Photo Capturing: In either DV or WiFi mode, press the 'Photo' button once to take a still image.

5.4 Adjusting Lens Angle

5.5 WiFi/AP Hotspot Connection and Remote Monitoring

In WiFi mode, the camera generates an AP hotspot for direct connection to your mobile device, enabling real-time viewing and playback via the companion app without requiring an internet connection. For remote monitoring over the internet, configure the camera through the app to connect to your home or office WiFi network.

5.6 Infrared Night Vision

The camera features infrared night vision for clear recording in low-light conditions. To turn off IR night vision, double-click the 'Photo' button.

5.7 Motion Detection

The motion detection function automatically starts recording when movement is detected within the camera's field of view. This feature helps conserve storage space and battery life. Activation and sensitivity settings are typically managed through the companion app.

5.8 Playback and File Management

Recorded videos and photos can be accessed and managed in several ways:

  • Via Companion App: In WiFi mode, use the app to view live footage, play back recorded files, and download them to your mobile device.
  • Via Computer: Connect the camera to a computer using the Type-C cable, or remove the TF card and insert it into a card reader. The camera/card will appear as a removable drive, allowing you to copy files.

5.9 Resetting the Device

If the camera becomes unresponsive or you encounter persistent issues, you can perform a reset using the 'Reset Key'. Use a thin object (like a paperclip) to press and hold the reset button for a few seconds until the camera restarts.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera body. For the lens, use a specialized lens cleaning cloth to avoid scratches. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the camera frequently. Charge the camera regularly, even if not in use for extended periods. Store in a cool, dry place.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the camera in a protective case to prevent dust and damage. Ensure the TF card is properly ejected before storing.
