4. Setup Instructions
4.1 RF Pairing (Remote Control to Receiver)
This process pairs your new smart controller with your existing garage door receiver/motor.
- Connect the power supply (USB Type-C 5V) to the smart controller.
- Press the LEARN button or the transparent button located under your ECOSTAR motor. The LED light on the motor will blink slowly. Release the button.
- Within the next 10 seconds, press a desired button on your new smart controller.
- The LED light on the motor will blink faster. Release the button.
- Press the same button again on your new smart controller and keep it pressed down.
- The LED light on the motor will blink very fast. Release the button.
- Your new smart controller is now programmed.
Attention: You can program a maximum of 6 RSE2 remote controls with the ECOSTAR motor.
To erase all programmed remote controls:
- Press and hold the transparent button P located under the ECOSTAR motor.
- Wait for 5 seconds, then release the button.
- The LED light on the receiver will blink slowly for 1 second, then faster for 4 seconds, and then very fast for 2 seconds.
- All previously programmed remote controls are now erased.
4.2 App Connection (Tuya Smart / Smart Life)
After successful RF pairing, connect the device to the mobile app for smart control features.
Checklist before connecting:
- Your smartphone or tablet is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network with internet access.
- Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
- You have the correct WiFi password.
- Your smartphone or tablet has access to the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
- Your router is MAC-open (if applicable).
Connection Steps:
- Download the "Tuya Smart" app from your mobile app store or scan the QR code provided in the product packaging.
- Register for a Tuya Smart account if you don't have one, or log in if you do.
- Reset the device: If the network indicator (red light) is not blinking fast (0.5 seconds/time), hold down the Reset button on the smart controller for 10 seconds until the red light blinks fast.
- In the Tuya Smart app, click "Add Device" (usually in the top right corner), then select "Auto scan". Wait a few seconds for the app to find the device, then click "Next".
- Select your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enter your password.
- Name your device (e.g., "Garage Door").
- You can now control your device using your mobile phone.
