This manual will guide you through the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new keyboard.

2. Setup

2.1 Package Contents

Before you begin, please ensure all items are present:

  • Womier Q75 Mechanical Keyboard
  • Detachable Keyboard Strap
  • USB 2.4GHz Receiver
  • USB-C Cable
  • Spare Switches (typically 3)
  • Keycap Puller / Switch Puller (may be included)

2.2 Charging the Keyboard

The keyboard is equipped with a 5000mAh large-capacity battery. For optimal performance, fully charge the keyboard before first use.

  1. Connect the supplied USB-C cable to the USB-C port on the keyboard.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to a powered USB port (e.g., computer, wall adapter).
  3. The keyboard's indicator light will show charging status (refer to the operating section for specific light indicators).

2.3 Attaching the Keyboard Strap

The Q75 keyboard comes with a matching detachable strap. To attach:

  1. Locate the attachment points on the side of the keyboard.
  2. Align the strap's connectors with the attachment points.
  3. Securely fasten the strap.

2.4 Connecting the Keyboard

The Womier Q75 supports three connection modes: USB-C wired, 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth 3.0/5.0.

2.4.1 USB-C Wired Connection

  1. Ensure the connection mode switch on the keyboard (located near the USB-C port) is set to the 'Off' or 'Wired' position (if available, otherwise 'Off' usually defaults to wired when connected).
  2. Connect the USB-C cable from the keyboard to your computer's USB port.
  3. The keyboard will be automatically recognized by your system.

2.4.2 2.4GHz Wireless Connection

  1. Plug the USB 2.4GHz receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
  2. Set the connection mode switch on the keyboard to '2.4G'.
  3. The keyboard should automatically connect to the receiver. If not, press Fn + P for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode.

2.4.3 Bluetooth Connection (BT 3.0/5.0)

  1. Set the connection mode switch on the keyboard to 'BT'.
  2. On your computer or device, enable Bluetooth and search for new devices.
  3. On the keyboard, press and hold Fn + Q, Fn + W, or Fn + E for 3-5 seconds to enter pairing mode for BT1, BT2, or BT3 respectively. The corresponding key (Q, W, or E) will flash rapidly.
  4. Select 'Womier Q75' (or similar name) from your device's Bluetooth list to pair.
  5. Once paired, the key will stop flashing and remain lit for a few seconds.
  6. You can pair up to three Bluetooth devices and switch between them using Fn + Q/W/E.

2.5 QMK/VIA Software Setup

The Womier Q75 supports QMK/VIA for advanced customization of key mappings, macros, and backlight effects. VIA is an open-source software that allows for easy programming.

  1. Download the VIA software from the official VIA website.
  2. Connect your keyboard to your computer using the USB-C wired connection.
  3. Launch the VIA software. It should automatically detect your Q75 keyboard.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Basic Functions

  • Typing: Use the standard QWERTY layout for typing.
  • Function Keys: Access F1-F12 keys and other secondary functions using the 'Fn' key in combination with the corresponding keys.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning the Keyboard

  • Disconnect the keyboard from all power sources.
  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution to wipe the keycaps and chassis.
  • For dust and debris between keys, use compressed air or a small brush.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

4.2 Hot-Swapping Switches

The Q75 is a hot-swappable keyboard, allowing you to easily remove and replace switches without soldering. It is compatible with both 3-pin and 5-pin switches.

  1. Remove Keycap: Use a keycap puller to gently remove the desired keycap.
  2. Remove Switch: Use a switch puller to carefully grip the top and bottom clips of the switch. Pull the switch straight up to remove it from the PCB.
  3. Install New Switch: Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB. Ensure the pins are straight to avoid bending. Gently push the switch down until it clicks into place.
  4. Replace Keycap: Press the keycap onto the new switch stem.

Caution: Apply even pressure when inserting switches to prevent bending pins or damaging the hot-swap socket.

4.3 Keycap Care

The keyboard features durable PBT plastic keycaps with dye-sublimation printing. These keycaps are resistant to shine and wear. Clean them as described in section 4.1.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Keyboard not responding:
    • Ensure the keyboard is charged.
    • Check the connection mode switch (USB-C, 2.4G, BT) is set correctly.
    • For wired mode, try a different USB port or cable.
    • For 2.4GHz, ensure the USB receiver is properly inserted.
    • For Bluetooth, ensure the keyboard is paired and selected in your device's Bluetooth settings. Try re-pairing if necessary.
  • Backlight not working or incorrect:
    • Check backlight brightness using Fn + ↑ / ↓.
    • Try switching backlight effects with Fn + Enter or colors with Fn + \.
    • Ensure the backlight hasn't been turned off with Fn + Back.
  • Specific keys not working:
    • If a single key is not working, the switch might be faulty or improperly seated. Try hot-swapping the switch (refer to section 4.2).
    • If multiple keys are affected, try resetting the keyboard (consult manufacturer support for specific reset procedures if not covered by VIA).
  • VIA software not detecting keyboard:
    • Ensure the keyboard is connected via USB-C cable.
