3.2 Placement and Protection

  1. Place the assembled honeycomb panel on your laser engraver's working area.
  2. Position the aluminum protective plates underneath the honeycomb panel. These plates provide double protection for your desk from laser damage.
  3. Attach the silicone pads to the bottom of the honeycomb panel or the aluminum plates to prevent slipping and further protect your work surface.
  4. If necessary, use the high-temperature adhesive tape to secure the aluminum plates or other components.

3.3 Securing Materials

Use the provided material clamps to secure your workpieces to the honeycomb panel. These clamps are designed to hold various materials, including curved wood or metal plates, ensuring a flat engraving surface.

4. Operating Instructions

The SCULPFUN H4 Honeycomb Panel is designed to optimize your laser cutting and engraving experience.

4.1 Enhancing Cutting Performance

  • When cutting materials like wood boards or acrylic, the honeycomb structure allows smoke to dissipate downwards, preventing it from accumulating and yellowing the edges of your workpiece. This results in cleaner cuts with fewer burn marks.
  • The open structure also minimizes contact points between the material and the bed, further reducing heat buildup and charring.

4.2 Cutting Observation Design

The honeycomb panel features a convenient cutting observation design. When the laser successfully cuts through the material, the metal protective plate underneath will reflect a bright light. This visual cue helps you easily determine if the cut has fully penetrated the material, eliminating guesswork and improving efficiency.

4.3 Material Clamping

Always use the provided material clamps to firmly secure your workpiece to the honeycomb panel. This prevents movement during the laser process, ensuring precision and safety.

5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance will extend the lifespan and performance of your SCULPFUN H4 Honeycomb Panel.

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the honeycomb cells to remove accumulated debris, dust, and residue from laser operations. A soft brush or compressed air can be used. For stubborn residue, a mild solvent compatible with high-strength steel can be applied, followed by wiping dry.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the honeycomb structure for any signs of damage, warping, or excessive wear. Ensure the connection components and screws remain tight.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the honeycomb panel in a clean, dry environment to prevent corrosion or damage.

6. Troubleshooting

Here are some common issues and their solutions when using the honeycomb panel:

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Excessive smoke/yellowing on material edges Insufficient airflow through honeycomb; dirty honeycomb cells. Ensure proper ventilation from your laser machine. Clean honeycomb cells regularly to maintain optimal airflow.
Material not cutting through completely Incorrect laser settings; material not flat; laser focus issue. Adjust laser power/speed settings. Ensure material is firmly clamped and flat on the honeycomb. Check laser focus. Use the observation design to confirm penetration.
Honeycomb panel unstable or wobbly Loose connection screws; uneven surface underneath. Retighten all connection screws. Ensure the surface where the honeycomb panel rests is flat and stable. Use silicone pads for added stability.
