8. Maintenance

8.1. Cleaning

  • Gently wipe the device body with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • For the infrared lens and screen, use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical surfaces. Avoid touching the lens directly with your fingers.

8.2. Storage

  • Store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • If storing for an extended period, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%) to prolong its lifespan.

9. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Device does not power on.Low battery.Charge the device fully using the Type-C USB cable.
Image is blurry or unclear.Lens is dirty; incorrect focus (if applicable); object too close/far.Clean the lens. Ensure the object is within the optimal measurement range. Consider using the optional macro lens for very close objects. Activate Super-Resolution Mode for enhanced detail.
Temperature readings seem inaccurate.Incorrect emissivity setting; environmental interference.Adjust the emissivity setting to match the material being measured. Ensure the measurement environment is stable.
Cannot transfer files to computer.Loose USB connection; driver issue.Ensure the USB cable is securely connected. Try a different USB port or cable. The device should appear as a mass storage device.
Confusion about resolution (96x96 vs 240x240).Misunderstanding of Super-Resolution technology. The native thermal imaging module resolution is 96x96. The device uses technical processing (Super-Resolution Mode) to extend and display images at 240x240 pixels, enhancing clarity and detail. This is not a native hardware resolution of 240x240 but an enhanced output.

11. User Tips

  • Clarity for SMD Components: For inspecting small electronic components (SMD), consider purchasing the optional macro lens. This accessory significantly improves the clarity and detail of close-up thermal images, making it easier to identify issues on circuit boards.
  • Leak Detection: The thermal imager is effective for detecting leaks in water extensions by identifying temperature anomalies caused by moisture or escaping heat/cold.
  • Detecting Objects in Darkness: Thermal cameras detect heat signatures, not visible light. Therefore, they are highly effective at detecting people or animals in complete darkness, as long as there is a temperature difference between the object and its surroundings.
  • Image Analysis Software: While the device allows direct image transfer via USB, for advanced analysis and reporting, you may need to use third-party thermal image analysis software on your computer.
