Setup and Initial Winding
Your RUIGE A8-3 watch is a mechanical timepiece that operates on kinetic energy. For the watch to function correctly, it requires initial winding and regular wear.
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the watch from its packaging.
- Initial Manual Winding:
- Locate the crown on the side of the watch case.
- Ensure the crown is in its fully pushed-in position (Position 0).
- Rotate the crown clockwise approximately 30-40 times. This will manually wind the mainspring and provide enough power for the watch to start ticking.
- If the watch has been stopped for a long time, it may require more turns or a gentle shake to initiate movement.
- Setting the Time:
- Pull the crown out to Position 2 (the outermost position).
- Rotate the crown to move the hands clockwise until the desired time is set.
- Push the crown back into Position 0 to engage the movement and start the watch.
- Setting the Date/Day (if applicable):
- Pull the crown out to Position 1 (the middle position).
- Rotate the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to adjust the date or day.
- Avoid setting the date/day between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can damage the movement. If the current time falls within this window, first adjust the time outside this range, then set the date/day, and finally reset the correct time.
- Push the crown back into Position 0.

Operating Instructions
Automatic Movement
The RUIGE A8-3 is an automatic watch, meaning it self-winds with the motion of your wrist. When worn daily for at least 8-10 hours, the natural movement of your arm will keep the mainspring wound, eliminating the need for manual winding. If the watch is not worn for an extended period (typically 24-48 hours), it will stop and require manual winding to restart.
Water Resistance (3ATM/3Bar)
This watch has a water resistance rating of 3ATM (3 Bar), which means it is suitable for daily use, such as hand washing, light rain, or accidental splashes. It is NOT suitable for showering, bathing, swimming, diving, or any water-related work. Avoid pressing any buttons or operating the crown while the watch is wet.
Luminescent Display
The watch features 3D stereoscopic luminescent hands and markers on its hollowed-out dial. These elements absorb light during the day and glow in the dark, providing visibility in low-light conditions. The intensity and duration of the glow depend on the exposure to light.

Unidirectional Rotating Bezel
The outer ring of the watch features a unidirectional rotating bezel with knurling. This bezel can be rotated counter-clockwise to perform timing functions, such as measuring elapsed time. Align the bezel's zero marker with the minute hand to track time from that point.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the watch case and band regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and sweat. For stainless steel bands, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. For silicone bands, mild soap and water can be used, ensuring thorough rinsing and drying.
- Avoid Chemicals: Do not expose the watch to harsh chemicals, solvents, or detergents, as these can damage the case, band, and seals.
- Temperature Extremes: Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) or sudden temperature changes, as this can affect the accuracy and longevity of the mechanical movement.
- Magnetic Fields: Keep the watch away from strong magnetic fields (e.g., speakers, refrigerators, certain electronic devices), as magnetism can affect the accuracy of mechanical watches.
- Impact: While durable, avoid dropping or subjecting the watch to severe impacts, which can damage the delicate internal components.
- Servicing: Mechanical watches benefit from periodic servicing (every 3-5 years) by a qualified watchmaker to ensure optimal performance and lubrication of the movement.
Troubleshooting
- Watch Not Running:
- Ensure the watch is fully wound. Manually wind it by rotating the crown clockwise 30-40 times.
- If it's an automatic watch, ensure it has been worn for sufficient periods (8-10 hours daily) to maintain its power reserve.
- Inaccurate Time:
- Mechanical watches are not as precise as quartz watches. A deviation of +/- 15-30 seconds per day is generally considered acceptable.
- Check if the watch has been exposed to strong magnetic fields. If so, demagnetization by a watchmaker may be necessary.
- Ensure the watch is fully wound. Low power reserve can affect accuracy.
- Water Inside the Watch:
- If condensation or water droplets appear inside the watch, immediately take it to a professional watchmaker for inspection and repair to prevent further damage.
- Review water resistance guidelines to ensure proper usage.
User Tips
- Consistent Wear: For best performance of the automatic movement, wear your watch consistently. If you rotate watches, consider a watch winder to keep it running and accurate.
- Bezel Use: The unidirectional rotating bezel is useful for timing short events, like parking meters or cooking. Rotate the bezel so the zero mark aligns with the minute hand, then read the elapsed time from the minute hand's position on the bezel.
- Luminescence Activation: To maximize the glow of the luminescent dial, expose the watch to bright light (natural or artificial) for a few minutes before entering a dark environment.
Warranty and Support
For any issues not covered in this manual, or for warranty claims, please contact the seller or an authorized service center. Keep your proof of purchase for warranty validation. Do not attempt to open or repair the watch yourself, as this may void the warranty and cause further damage.
