5. Setup

5.1. Charging the Battery

The ET693B is equipped with a built-in 2600mAh lithium battery. Before first use, or when the battery is low, connect the camera to a power source using the provided USB Type-C cable. The charging indicator will show the charging status. A full charge provides approximately 4 hours of continuous operation.

5.2. Powering On/Off

To power on the device, press and hold the Back/Power button (refer to Figure 3) until the screen illuminates. To power off, press and hold the same button until the shutdown prompt appears, then confirm.

5.3. Language Settings

The device supports multiple languages. To change the language:

  1. Navigate to the main menu using the arrow keys and Home/Confirm button.
  2. Select 'Settings' or the equivalent option.
  3. Find 'Language' and choose your preferred language from the list (English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Polish, Russian, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Chinese).

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Taking Photos and Videos

The ET693B allows for both thermal image capture and video recording:

  • To take a photo: Aim the camera at the target and press the main trigger button. The image will be saved as a JPG file.
  • To record a video: Navigate to the video recording mode (usually via a menu option or custom key), then press the trigger button to start/stop recording. Videos are saved in MP4 format.

The camera has 8GB of built-in memory (6.19GB usable) and can store over 20,000 pictures.

6.2. Temperature Measurement

The ET693B measures temperatures from -20°C to 550°C with an accuracy of ±2℃ or ±2% of reading. It supports distance compensation within 2 meters for more accurate readings.

The camera provides real-time temperature tracking, displaying the lowest, center, and highest temperatures within the field of view, along with an area temperature alarm function.

6.3. Color Palettes

The ET693B offers 9 different color palettes to visualize thermal data, allowing users to choose the best representation for various scenes and analysis needs. These include Iron, White hot, Black hot, Rainbow, Red hot, High contrast, Lava, Arctic, and Coldest.

6.4. SUPER IR Image Technology Enhancement

6.5. Laser Pointer

6.6. Data Transmission and Analysis

Connect the ET693B to a computer using the USB Type-C cable. After installing the dedicated software, you can import captured images and videos for detailed data analysis, including 3D thermal field distribution.

6.7. Intelligent Shutdown

To conserve battery life, the camera supports customizable automatic shutdown settings. You can configure the device to power off after 5, 10, 30, or 60 minutes of inactivity, or disable this feature entirely.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera body. For the lens, use a specialized lens cleaning cloth and solution to avoid scratches.
  • Storage: Store the camera in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the battery is partially charged if storing for extended periods.
  • Battery Care: Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Recharge the battery regularly, even if the camera is not in use, to maintain battery health.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Device not powering on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to a power source using the USB Type-C cable and try again.
  • Image is blurry or unclear: Check if the lens is clean. Ensure you are within the optimal measurement distance for the target.
  • Temperature readings seem inaccurate: Verify that the emissivity settings are correct for the material being measured. Ensure distance compensation is appropriately set if applicable.
  • Cannot connect to PC: Ensure the USB Type-C cable is securely connected to both the camera and the computer. Confirm that the necessary PC software is installed.

9. User Tips

  • For best results, allow the camera to stabilize in the environment for a few minutes before taking critical measurements.
  • Experiment with different color palettes to find the one that best highlights the temperature differences for your specific application.
  • Utilize the laser pointer to precisely identify the measurement spot, especially in complex environments.
