2. Setup Guide

2.1 Initial Connection

  1. Locate your vehicle's OBDII (16-pin) port, typically found under the dashboard on the driver's side.
  2. Plug the diagnostic cable from the ANCEL V3 PRO into the OBDII port.
  3. Turn on the ignition of your car.
  4. The ANCEL V3 PRO device will power on automatically.

2.2 Device Activation

3.1 Full System Diagnostics

The ANCEL V3 PRO can access all available on-board ECUs and modules to perform comprehensive diagnostics. This includes:

  • AutoVIN and AutoScan: Automatically identify vehicle information and scan all systems for fault codes (for 2006 and later models).
  • Read/Clear Codes: Read and clear generic and manufacturer-specific diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).

3.2 Bidirectional Control (Active Tests)

Perform functional tests on specific vehicle components by sending commands directly from the scanner. This helps in quickly identifying malfunctioning sensors, valves, and actuators.

  • Examples of controllable components: Windows, Mirrors, Lamps, Wipers, Sunroof, Pumps, Adaptive Headlamp Adjustment, A/C Configuration, Door Turn On/Off, Steering Wheel Heating, Horn, ABS Pump Motor, Cooling Fan, Relays, etc.

3.3 10+ Reset Service Functions

The ANCEL V3 PRO provides essential maintenance and reset functions:

  • Oil Reset: Reset the oil life reminder and turn off the oil change light after an oil change.
  • ABS Bleeding: Bleed the brake system to remove air and obtain a firm brake pedal. (Note: Some vehicles may only support manual bleeding).
  • EPB Reset: Retract and reset electric parking brake calipers after brake pad replacement.
  • Throttle Adaptation: Relearn throttle operating parameters after replacement or cleaning.
  • SAS Calibration: Calibrate the steering angle position sensor to zero and turn off the steering wheel error light.
  • BMS Reset: Reset the vehicle battery monitoring unit and register new battery replacements.
  • DPF Regeneration: Manage DPF regeneration to clear soot buildup in the diesel particulate filter.
  • Injector Coding: Write or rewrite injector codes to the ECU for accurate fuel injection control.
