5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Remote Control Pairing

To pair the watch-style remote controller with the host:

  1. Plug and unplug the DC charging plug twice while the host is in charging mode.
  2. After hearing a beep from the host, press any key on the remote control to complete the pairing.
  3. If unsuccessful, repeat the above steps.
  4. For Pro versions with signal lights: Plug and unplug the charging head twice. Once the signal light flashes red and blue alternately, press any key on the remote control to complete the pairing.

For the deep water controller: No pairing is required. Just connect the end of the remote control data cable tightly with the end of the host data cable and tighten the nut (pay attention to waterproofing). Before each dive, press the depth correction button to reset the last used data to zero.

5.2. Remote Control Display and Buttons

Schematic Diagram of The Watch-Style Controller
Figure 10: Schematic Diagram of The Watch-Style Controller.
  • Remote Control Signal Status: After successful pairing, a signal tower icon will be displayed. If the signal connection is lost, an 'x' icon will appear. If the signal is lost for 1 minute while the host is running, the host will automatically shut down.
  • Speed Ratio Status: Default speed is 20% (low speed). Minimum speed is 10%, maximum is 100% (full speed). Use '+' and '-' buttons to adjust speed.
  • Power Switch Button: Double-click to turn on/off the host after successful pairing. The host defaults to forward state at low speed (2 gears).
  • Propeller Host Battery Status: Check the battery level on the remote control screen frequently.
  • Signal Lights (Pro Version): Use the left button on the remote control to adjust the signal light color (multiple colors available). Use the right button to adjust the signal light mode (e.g., distress, breathing, gradient, off).

5.3. Using the Propeller on your SUP

  1. Place the SUP with the Propeller in the water, ensuring enough space and no obstacles.
  2. Stand or kneel on the SUP and take the remote control.
  3. Attach the remote control to yourself in case you fall off.
  4. When swimming, place the remote control inside its waterproof box/cover and secure it to the machine.

5.4. Using with Diving Handles or Other Hulls

When using the Propeller with diving handles or on other equipment (like inflatable motorboats), ensure all attachments are firmly installed. For inflatable motorboats, the faucet must be firmly installed, screws tightened, water diverter firmly installed, and the Propeller itself securely mounted. Always wear a life jacket. Before entering the water, wear a slip rope to prevent the inlet from accidentally disengaging.

7. Maintenance & Storage

After Each Use:

  • Flush the Propeller thoroughly with fresh water to prevent corrosive water (especially salt water) from damaging the unit.
  • Allow the Propeller to dry in a dark place. Do not expose it to direct sunlight, as this can damage the battery.

Long-Term Storage:

  • After cooling and drying, store the unit in a dark place.
  • If not used for a long time, charge both the remote control and the host for approximately one hour before storing them. This prevents the chip from consuming reserved power and causing the remote control to crash.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Host suddenly shuts down at full speed: This may be due to overcurrent protection or overtemperature protection being triggered. Try restarting the host or wait a moment before starting it again.
  • Remote control loses signal: If the remote control screen displays an 'x' icon, the signal connection is lost. If this persists for 1 minute while the host is running, the host will automatically shut down. Re-pair the remote control as per Section 5.1.
  • Propeller cannot be started: Ensure the host is not in charging mode, as the battery is in a protected state during charging and the propeller cannot be started.

9. User Tips

  • Always perform a pre-use check of all components, especially battery levels and secure connections, before entering the water.
  • Familiarize yourself with the remote control functions in a safe, shallow water environment before attempting deeper dives or higher speeds.
  • Consider using the action camera mount to capture your underwater adventures.
  • When using with a SUP, ensure the remote control is securely attached to your person to prevent loss if you fall.
