1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your BigBigRoad Car 4K Wifi DVR Dashcam. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device to ensure proper functionality and safety.

The BigBigRoad Car 4K Wifi DVR Dashcam is designed to record high-quality video footage of your journeys, offering features such as 4K resolution, WiFi connectivity for mobile app control, G-Sensor for collision detection, and 24-hour parking monitoring.

2. Setup

2.1. App Installation and Connection

  1. App Download and Installation:
    • For Android devices, search for "Viidure" in the Google Play Store and install it.
    • For iOS devices, search for "Viidure" in the App Store and install it.
  2. Connect Mobile Phone with Dashcam via WiFi:
    • Open the "Viidure" app.
    • Navigate to your mobile phone's WiFi settings and select the hotspot named "CARDV...".
    • Enter the default password: 12345678.
    • Return to the app and tap the "WLAN" icon in the top left corner to establish the connection.

2.2. Physical Installation

Before installation, ensure the car engine is turned off and all accessories are present. If any parts are missing, contact customer service.

  1. Insert the TF-Card into the Card Slot on the Car DVR properly. Use a high-speed TF-Card (Class 10 or above). The maximum supported volume is 128GB.
  2. Confirm the installation position. Wipe the chosen area with a clean cloth to ensure it is free of dirt. The suggested installation location is near the rearview mirror or in the middle of the windshield for optimal recording.
  3. Find the matched 3M double-sided tape, peel off the backing, and paste it to the selected installation position.
  4. Remove the back hoop of the DVR.
  5. Hang up the DVR and pull it back to the fastening position.
  6. Install the rearview mirror back into place.
  7. Install the DVR backhoop.

2.3. Wiring Instructions (Power from Fuse Box)

The following instructions detail how to connect the DVR to your car's fuse box for power. This is for reference only; consult your car's manual or a professional if unsure.

  1. Yellow wire (B+): Connect to a constant +12V power source (e.g., car interior light, emergency flasher, brake light) that is not controlled by the key switch. This provides power even when the car is off.
  2. Red wire (ACC): Connect to a +12V power source that is controlled by the car's key switch (e.g., car cigarette lighter, FM radio). This provides power when the key is in the ignition and turned on.
  3. Black wire (GND): Connect to a ground wire, usually locked in an iron screw.

2.4. Rearview Mirror Bracket Compatibility

Ensure your rearview mirror bracket is suitable for the DVR installation. Refer to the diagrams below for compatible and incompatible types.

2.5. Optional Connectors

If you require USB or OBD connectors, please contact the seller. These options typically support WiFi app control only and do not provide AV output to a screen.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1. DVR Function Introduction

  • Power Button: In recording mode, short press to pause recording; long press for 3 seconds to power off. When navigating the menu, short press to confirm selection. When WiFi is connected, short press to cancel the connection.
  • Photo Button: In recording mode, short press to take photos. Long press for 5 seconds to restore factory settings.
  • Reset Hole: Use a thin object (like a thimble) to short press and restart the device if the Car DVR crashes.
  • LED Indicator:
    • Red Light: Blinks when WiFi is connected, stays on when WiFi is not connected.
    • Blue Light: Flashes when recording, steady when recording is stopped.

3.2. Automatic Recording

The Car DVR will automatically power on and start recording when the car starts. The blue indicator will flash. When the car engine is turned off, the Car DVR will automatically save the records and power off. Recorded images are saved on the memory card as clips. When the memory card is full, new clips will automatically overwrite older clips (loop recording). The default recording time is 1 minute per clip.

3.3. Collision Locking (G-Sensor)

The current video will be automatically locked and saved during driving processes such as braking or collision. These locked videos will not be overwritten by the circular video recording, ensuring critical event footage is preserved.

3.4. 24 Hours Parking Monitor

If the DVR detects a shock from any external forces (e.g., a thief attempting to break in) while parked, its Parking Mode function will automatically activate and begin recording. This feature requires a continuous power supply, typically provided via the power cable connected to the fuse box.

3.5. Adjustable Lens

The DVR features an adjustable lens, allowing you to set different angles for your best vision and sight, ensuring optimal recording coverage.

3.6. Wide Dynamic Range (WDR)

WDR technology enables the DVR to achieve very perfect video and image quality, regardless of whether the outside light is too bright or too dark. This ensures clear recordings in various lighting conditions.

3.7. Video Playback

You can view recorded videos on your mobile phone, tablet, PC, or compatible car DVD system via the WiFi connection and app.

4. Maintenance

4.1. TF Card Formatting

It is recommended to format the TF card once every other month. Before formatting, back up any necessary data. Periodically formatting the DVR memory card helps prevent data loss and ensures normal operation of the DVR.

To format the memory card:

  1. Open the "Viidure" app and connect to the recorder's WiFi.
  2. Enter the recorder settings within the app.
  3. Click "Format memory card".

5. Troubleshooting

ProblemSolution
DVR cannot turn on.Ensure the DVR is connected to your car's power supply. The device requires power to operate.
Date and time are incorrect.Connect your phone to the DVR via WiFi; the date and time will automatically update to match your phone's settings.
How to tell if DVR is recording?
  • If phone WiFi is off: The blue LED flashes when recording, and is steady when not recording.
  • If phone WiFi is connected: Both red and blue LEDs flash when recording.
App cannot connect to DVR.
  • Check if the TF card is faulty or if the recorder indicator is blinking. If the TF card is pulled out, boot to test for a WiFi hotspot. If a hotspot is present, replace the TF card.
  • If WiFi still cannot connect, use a thimble to press the [Reset] hole to restart the system.
  • Try turning off Bluetooth and mobile data on your phone, then attempt to connect again.
Recorder cannot record.Ensure the TF card is properly inserted and formatted on the machine. Confirm that the TF card is a high-speed Class 10 brand original card.
Forgot WiFi password or cannot find WiFi.Press and hold the photo button for 5-10 seconds to restore factory settings. The default account is "CARDV..." and the password is "12345678".
Photo button doesn't work.Check whether the key bar cable is loose or damaged.
Recorder did not record or recorded noise.
  • No sound in recording: Check if the key cable is loose.
  • Recording noise: The WiFi antenna might be dry. Check the DVR WiFi antenna and try changing its position.
Car starts, DVR automatically shuts down after one minute.Check whether the red ACC line is powered on correctly.
App cannot be downloaded or enabled due to mobile system compatibility.Try downloading and installing alternative apps like "Timacam" or "Roadcam".
