This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of your Gaggia Brera Super-Automatic Espresso Machine. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the appliance and keep it for future reference.

Product Overview
The Gaggia Brera is a super-automatic espresso machine designed for ease of use and high-quality coffee beverages. It features a ceramic burr grinder, a Pannarello steam wand, and a removable brew group for simple maintenance.

Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and ensure all components are present.
- Placement: Place the machine on a stable, flat, and dry surface, away from heat sources and water. Ensure adequate ventilation.
- Water Reservoir: Pull out the water reservoir from the front of the machine. Fill it with fresh, cold water up to the MAX line. Reinsert the reservoir securely.
- Bean Hopper: Open the lid of the bean hopper. Fill with whole coffee beans. Do not overfill.

- Bypass Doser (for pre-ground coffee): If using pre-ground coffee, add one scoop to the bypass doser. Do not add whole beans to the bypass doser.

- Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.
- Initial Rinse Cycle: Follow the on-screen prompts or manual instructions for the initial rinse cycle to prime the system.
Operating Instructions
Control Panel Overview:

- Power On: Press the power button to turn on the machine. The machine will perform a brief self-check and heating cycle.
- Brewing Espresso:
- Place a cup under the coffee dispenser.
- Press the single cup button for a single espresso or the double cup button for a double espresso.
- The machine will grind the beans and brew the coffee automatically.

- Adjusting Grind Settings: The machine has 5 grind settings. Adjust the grind fineness using the dial inside the bean hopper. Finer grind for stronger espresso, coarser for lighter. Adjust only when the grinder is operating.
- Frothing Milk with Pannarello Steam Wand:
- Ensure the machine is heated to steam temperature (indicated on the LED display).
- Position a pitcher with cold milk under the Pannarello steam wand.
- Turn the steam knob to activate steam.
- Submerge the wand tip just below the milk surface and move the pitcher to create foam.
- Once desired foam is achieved, turn off the steam knob and clean the wand immediately.

- Gaggia Adapting System: The machine automatically learns from your coffee, optimizing the grinder's operation for your preferred beans. This ensures consistent quality over time.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of your espresso machine.
- Daily Cleaning:
- Empty and rinse the drip tray and dreg box daily.
- Wipe down the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
- Clean the Pannarello steam wand immediately after each use to prevent milk residue buildup.
- Removable Brew Group Cleaning:
- Turn off and unplug the machine.
- Open the service door and remove the brew group by pressing the "PUSH" button and pulling it out.
- Rinse the brew group thoroughly under lukewarm running water. Do not use detergents.
- Allow it to air dry completely before reinserting.

- Descaling: Perform descaling as indicated by the machine or every 2-3 months, depending on water hardness. Use a Gaggia-approved descaling solution and follow the instructions provided with the descaler.
Troubleshooting
