1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the LISM BBX9800 Gasoline Leaf Blower. This powerful and versatile backpack blower is designed for various outdoor tasks, including clearing leaves, debris, snow, and can even function as a wind fire extinguisher. To ensure safe and efficient operation, please read this manual thoroughly before use and keep it for future reference.
2. Safety Information
WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions could result in serious injury or death.
- Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, and sturdy footwear.
- Never operate the blower indoors or in poorly ventilated areas. Exhaust fumes contain carbon monoxide, which is a colorless, odorless, and deadly gas.
- Handle fuel with extreme care. Gasoline is highly flammable. Fill the fuel tank outdoors, away from ignition sources, and do not smoke while refueling.
- Ensure the engine is cool before refueling.
- Keep children, bystanders, and pets at a safe distance (at least 15 meters / 50 feet) from the operating area.
- Inspect the blower before each use for loose parts, damage, or fuel leaks. Do not operate a damaged blower.
- Be aware of hot surfaces, especially the muffler and engine, during and after operation.
- Do not modify the blower in any way. Use only genuine replacement parts.
- Always turn off the engine and allow it to cool before performing any maintenance or cleaning.

5. Setup
Before first use, some assembly and preparation are required:
- Attach Blower Tube: Securely connect the flexible blower tube to the blower outlet. Ensure all clamps or fasteners are tightened.
- Connect Control Handle: Attach the control handle to the blower tube. This handle typically includes the throttle and stop switch.
- Add Engine Oil: As this is a four-stroke engine, it requires separate engine oil. Locate the oil fill cap (refer to Figure 3.2) and fill with the recommended four-stroke engine oil to the appropriate level. Do not overfill.
- Fill Fuel Tank: Fill the fuel tank with fresh, unleaded motor gasoline. Do not use mixed fuel (oil and gasoline) as this is a four-stroke engine. Ensure the fuel cap is securely tightened after filling.
- Adjust Harness: Put on the backpack harness and adjust the straps for a comfortable and secure fit. The blower should sit firmly on your back without excessive movement.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Starting the Engine
- Place the blower on a flat, stable surface.
- Ensure the stop switch is in the "ON" or "RUN" position.
- Move the choke lever to the "CLOSED" or "START" position (for cold starts).
- Press the primer bulb several times until fuel is visible in the return line.
- Pull the starter cord firmly and smoothly until the engine attempts to start or fires once.
- Once the engine fires, move the choke lever to the "HALF CHOKE" or "RUN" position.
- Pull the starter cord again until the engine starts.
- Allow the engine to warm up for a few moments before applying full throttle.
- To stop the engine, move the stop switch to the "OFF" position.
6.2 Using the Blower
Once the engine is running and you are wearing the blower comfortably:
- Use the throttle on the control handle to adjust the blowing force.
- Direct the blower tube towards the material you wish to move.
- For leaves and debris, use a sweeping motion to gather them into piles.
- For snow, the powerful airflow can help clear light, powdery snow from surfaces.
- As a wind fire extinguisher, direct the powerful air stream at the base of small fires to deprive them of oxygen. Exercise extreme caution and only use for appropriate fire types and sizes.

7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your blower.
- Air Filter: Check and clean the air filter regularly, especially in dusty conditions. Replace if damaged.
- Spark Plug: Inspect the spark plug for wear and proper gap. Replace if necessary (NGK, CMR6A recommended).
- Engine Oil: Check the engine oil level before each use and change it according to the manufacturer's recommendations (typically after a certain number of operating hours).
- Fuel Filter: Periodically check and clean or replace the fuel filter located inside the fuel tank.
- Cooling Fins: Keep the engine's cooling fins clean to prevent overheating.
- General Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the blower after each use, removing any debris or dirt.
- Storage: For long-term storage, drain the fuel tank or use a fuel stabilizer. Run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor of fuel. Store in a dry, well-ventilated area.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Engine won't start | No fuel, stale fuel, stop switch OFF, clogged fuel filter, fouled spark plug, incorrect choke setting. | Check fuel level, use fresh fuel, ensure stop switch is ON, clean/replace fuel filter, clean/replace spark plug, adjust choke. |
| Engine runs poorly/lacks power | Clogged air filter, stale fuel, incorrect spark plug gap, dirty carburetor. | Clean air filter, use fresh fuel, check/adjust spark plug, clean carburetor (professional service recommended). |
| Excessive smoke | Wrong type of oil, too much oil, engine malfunction. | Ensure correct four-stroke engine oil is used, check oil level, consult professional if problem persists. |
| Blower vibrates excessively | Loose components, damaged fan/impeller. | Check for and tighten any loose parts. If vibration continues, discontinue use and seek professional service. |
9. User Tips
- For optimal performance, always use fresh, high-quality gasoline and the recommended four-stroke engine oil.
- When clearing large areas, work in sections and blow debris in the same direction to create manageable piles.
- Regularly check and clean the air filter to prevent engine strain and maintain power.
- Consider using ear protection even for short periods, as the 96dB noise level can be significant.
- Store the blower in a clean, dry place to prevent corrosion and damage.
