9. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your biometric terminal, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Regularly wipe the screen and camera lens with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the surface.
  • Environment: Keep the device in a clean, dry environment, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures (-10 to 60 degrees Celsius operating range), and high humidity.
  • Power: Always use the specified DC12V 2-5A power supply. Avoid power fluctuations.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the manufacturer's website periodically for any available firmware updates to improve performance and security.

10. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your device, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Device Not Powering On:
    - Check the power supply connection and ensure it's providing the correct DC12V 2-5A.
  • Face Recognition Failure:
    - Ensure the user is positioned correctly in front of the camera.
    - Check for sufficient lighting; the infrared fill light assists in low light, but extreme darkness can affect performance.
    - Verify that the user's face data is properly registered.
    - Ensure no photos or videos are being used for authentication, as the device has liveness detection.
  • Fingerprint Recognition Failure (S1000K):
    - Ensure the fingerprint sensor is clean and free from dirt or moisture.
    - Make sure the registered finger is placed firmly and completely on the sensor.
    - Re-register the fingerprint if issues persist.
  • Card Not Reading:
    - Ensure you are using a compatible IC/ID card (typically 13.56MHz).
    - Present the card correctly to the card reader area.
    - Verify the card code is correctly registered to the user.
  • "Validation Failed" Voice Prompt:
    - This indicates that the authentication attempt was unsuccessful. Re-attempt with the correct method or check user registration.
  • Data Export Issues:
    - Ensure the USB drive is properly inserted and formatted to a compatible file system (e.g., FAT32).
    - Check if the USB drive has sufficient free space.

If problems persist after attempting these solutions, please contact customer support.

11. User Tips

  • RFID Card Compatibility: The device supports IC cards, which typically operate at 13.56MHz. If you plan to use other RFID card types (e.g., 125 kHz), please verify compatibility with the manufacturer or supplier before purchase.
  • Administrator Access: For security, it is recommended to assign administrator privileges to a limited number of trusted individuals.
  • Regular Data Backup: Periodically export attendance records and user data to a USB drive to prevent data loss.
  • Optimal Face Recognition: Advise users to maintain a consistent appearance (e.g., wearing glasses or not) if possible, although the device is designed to handle minor changes like hats or makeup. Avoid rapid movements during facial scanning.
