5. Installation

Before beginning installation, ensure you have all included components and necessary tools. It is recommended that installation be performed by a qualified professional.

5.1 Mounting

The range hood is designed for wall-mounting. Refer to the dimension diagram (Image 3.1) for precise measurements and ensure adequate clearance above your cooking surface. Use the provided fixing materials to securely attach the mounting brackets to the wall, then mount the range hood unit.

5.2 Operation Modes: Ducted vs. Recirculation

Your FIREGAS range hood supports two operation modes:

Ducted (Extraction) Mode

Image 5.1: Ducted extraction setup.

In ducted mode, cooking fumes and odors are extracted from the kitchen and vented directly outside through an exhaust air hose. This mode is recommended for:

  • Complete removal of cooking smoke and odors.
  • Reliable odor elimination.
  • Avoiding regular filter changes (charcoal filters are not needed).

Ensure proper ducting to the exterior of your home, following local building codes.

Recirculation Mode

In recirculation mode, air is drawn through the grease filters and then through charcoal filters (2 x CC130) to remove odors before being released back into the kitchen. This mode is recommended when:

  • A simple installation is required.
  • Structural conditions prevent the installation of an external exhaust system.
  • No authorization for air extraction is available.

Ensure the charcoal filters are correctly installed for this mode.

6. Operating Instructions

The FIREGAS range hood features an intuitive digital touch control panel for easy operation.

7. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your range hood. Always disconnect the power supply before performing any maintenance or cleaning.

7.1 Cleaning the Exterior

The range hood is made of black glass and stainless steel, which are easy to clean.

  • Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft cloth dampened with mild detergent and water.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
  • Dry thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth.

7.2 Cleaning the Grease Filters

The 5-layer aluminum grease filters effectively trap cooking grease. They should be cleaned regularly (e.g., monthly, depending on usage) to maintain efficiency.

  • To remove, locate the release latches on the filters and gently pull them down.
  • Wash the filters by hand in hot soapy water or in a dishwasher.
  • Ensure filters are completely dry before re-installing.

7.3 Replacing Charcoal Filters (Recirculation Mode Only)

If operating in recirculation mode, the CC130 charcoal filters absorb odors and need to be replaced periodically (typically every 3-6 months, depending on usage). These filters cannot be washed.

  • Remove the grease filters to access the charcoal filters.
  • Twist or unclip the old charcoal filters and remove them.
  • Install new CC130 charcoal filters, ensuring they are securely in place.
  • Re-install the grease filters.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your range hood, refer to the following table for common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Range hood does not turn on.No power supply; power cord not plugged in; circuit breaker tripped.Check power connection; ensure circuit breaker is on; test outlet with another appliance.
Low suction power.Grease filters are clogged; charcoal filters are saturated (recirculation mode); exhaust duct is blocked or too long/narrow.Clean grease filters; replace charcoal filters; check and clear exhaust ducting.
Excessive noise during operation.Loose components; fan blades obstructed; improper installation of ducting.Check for loose screws or parts; ensure nothing is obstructing the fan; verify ducting is installed correctly and securely.
LED lights not working.Light bulb faulty; electrical connection issue.Check if the light button was pressed; if individual bulbs are replaceable, replace them; contact support if issue persists.

9. User Tips

  • For best performance, turn on the range hood a few minutes before you start cooking to establish airflow.
  • Always use the appropriate fan speed for the type of cooking you are doing. Higher speeds are recommended for frying or grilling.
  • Regularly clean the grease filters to maintain optimal suction power and prevent grease buildup.
  • If using recirculation mode, remember to replace the charcoal filters as recommended to ensure effective odor removal.
  • Keep your kitchen well-ventilated to assist the range hood in maintaining air quality.
