Setup and Assembly
The Merax Single Bed requires assembly. While specific step-by-step diagrams are not provided in this manual, the general process involves constructing the bed frame, attaching the headboard, installing the slatted base, and finally placing the mattress. It is recommended to have two adults for assembly.
- Unpack and Identify Parts: Carefully unpack all components and lay them out on a clean, soft surface (like a rug or blanket) to prevent scratches. Identify all bed frame pieces, headboard parts, slatted base, and hardware.
- Assemble Side Rails and Footboard: Connect the side rails to the footboard using the provided hardware. Ensure all connections are secure but do not fully tighten until the entire frame is assembled.
- Attach Headboard: Assemble the storage headboard sections if they are separate. Then, attach the assembled headboard to the side rails using the appropriate hardware.
- Install Center Support (if applicable): If your bed frame includes a center support beam, install it now according to the instructions in your hardware kit.
- Place Slatted Base: Carefully lay the slatted frame across the bed frame. Ensure the slats are evenly spaced and secured to the side rails as instructed.
- Final Tightening: Once the entire bed frame is assembled and stable, go back and fully tighten all screws and bolts.
- Unroll and Place Mattress: Unpack the rolled mattress and allow it to expand fully on the slatted base. This may take up to 48-72 hours.

Operating Instructions
Once assembled, your Merax Single Bed is ready for use.
- Sleeping Surface: The bed is designed to accommodate one person up to 120 KG (264 LBS).
- Storage Headboard: Utilize the integrated shelves in the headboard for storing books, small decorative items, or personal belongings. Ensure items are placed securely and do not obstruct the sleeping area.
- Mattress Usage: The included mattress is a 7-zone cold foam pocket spring mattress with a hardness of H3, suitable for abdominal, side, and back sleepers. It is designed to be a turning mattress, allowing you to flip it periodically to extend its lifespan and maintain comfort.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance will help prolong the life and appearance of your Merax bed.
- Cleaning the Bed Frame: Wipe the solid wood and MDF surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish.
- Mattress Care: The mattress cover is 100% polyester. For general cleaning, spot clean with a mild detergent and water. Allow to air dry completely. Refer to the mattress's specific care label for detailed instructions. The mattress is suitable for house dust allergy sufferers and offers very good ventilation.
- Check Connections: Periodically (e.g., every 3-6 months), check all screws and bolts on the bed frame and headboard to ensure they are still tight. Retighten if necessary to maintain stability and prevent squeaking.
- Turning the Mattress: To ensure even wear and extend the mattress's lifespan, rotate and/or flip the mattress every 3-6 months.
Troubleshooting
Here are some common issues and their solutions:
- Squeaking Noises: Squeaking often indicates loose connections. Check and retighten all screws and bolts on the bed frame. Ensure the slatted base is properly seated and secured.
- Bed Feels Unstable: This is usually due to loose hardware. Re-check all connections and tighten them firmly. Ensure the bed is on a level surface.
- Mattress Not Fully Expanded: If the mattress has just been unrolled, it may take 48-72 hours to fully expand to its stated dimensions. Ensure it is placed in a well-ventilated room.
- Damage During Assembly: If any part is damaged during assembly, stop immediately and contact the seller for replacement parts. Do not attempt to force damaged parts together.
