5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off and Flashlight

  • Press the Power/Light Switch button to turn the device on.
  • Press and hold the Power/Light Switch button to activate the flashlight. Press again to turn off the flashlight.
  • The device will automatically power off after 5 minutes of inactivity.

5.2 AC Voltage / NCV Measurement

This mode allows for non-contact detection of AC voltage.

  1. Turn on the device.
  2. Bring the probe (NCV sensor) close to the wire or electrical outlet you wish to test.
  3. The display will show a voltage reading, and the device will provide audible and visual prompts:
    • Green Screen & Slow Buzzer: Indicates lower voltage or neutral wire.
    • Red Screen & Sharp Buzzer: Indicates higher voltage or live wire.

5.3 Neutral/Live Wires Measurement

To distinguish between neutral and live wires:

  1. Turn on the device.
  2. Place the probe into the electrical socket or against the wire.
  3. Observe the display and audible prompts:
    • If the display shows "U" and the buzzer sounds slowly (green screen), it indicates a Neutral Wire.
    • If the display shows "H" and the buzzer sounds sharply (red screen), it indicates a Live Wire.

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Device does not power on.Dead or incorrectly installed batteries.Replace batteries with new 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
Inaccurate or no voltage reading.Low battery, interference, or incorrect operating procedure.Replace batteries. Ensure no strong electromagnetic fields are nearby. Re-read operating instructions for the specific measurement.
Flashlight does not work.Device not powered on, or low battery.Ensure the device is on. Replace batteries if low.
Auto power-off too soon.Normal operation (5 minutes of inactivity). This is a battery-saving feature. Simply power the device back on.

8. User Tips

  • Safety First: Always assume a circuit is live until proven otherwise. Use appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Test on Known Live Circuit: Before testing an unknown circuit, always test the voltage tester on a known live circuit to ensure it is functioning correctly.
  • Clear Readings: For best visibility, ensure the display is clean and free from smudges. The dual-color backlight helps in various lighting conditions.
  • Battery Life: To maximize battery life, remember to turn off the flashlight when not needed and allow the auto power-off feature to function.
