5. Setup and Assembly

  2. Assemble Main Frame: Connect the main support beams using the provided bolts and nuts. Ensure all connections are secure but do not fully tighten until all major components are in place.
  3. Attach Seat and Backrest: Secure the seat and backrest pads to their respective frame sections. Use the designated bolts and washers.
  4. Install Armrest/Leg Support: Attach the armrest and leg support roller assembly to the main frame. These components are often adjustable and secured with quick-release pins or knobs.
  5. Attach Resistance Band Anchors: If not pre-attached, secure the resistance band anchors to the designated points on the bench frame.
  6. Final Tightening: Once all components are assembled, go back and securely tighten all bolts and nuts.
  7. Functionality Check: Test all adjustable mechanisms to ensure they lock securely into place.

Folding for Storage

The bench is designed for compact storage. To fold the bench:

  1. Remove any quick-release pins or loosen knobs that secure the backrest and leg support in their extended positions.
  2. Carefully fold the backrest and leg support sections towards the main frame.
  3. Secure the folded sections with any designated locking pins or straps.
  4. Utilize the integrated wheels to easily move the folded bench for storage.

Adjusting the Bench

The Planefit bench offers multiple adjustment options to customize your workout:

  • Backrest Adjustment (8 Positions): To adjust the backrest angle, pull the adjustment pin located at the hinge point. Move the backrest to your desired angle (flat, incline, or decline) and release the pin, ensuring it locks securely into one of the 8 available positions.
  • Armrest Adjustment (7 Positions): The armrest/preacher curl attachment can be adjusted in height. Locate the adjustment knob or pin on the armrest support post. Loosen/pull the pin, slide the armrest to the desired height, and secure it firmly. There are 7 positions available.
  • Seat Adjustment (2 Positions): The seat can be adjusted to 2 different positions. Locate the adjustment mechanism beneath the seat. Adjust as needed and ensure it is locked.

Always ensure all adjustment pins and knobs are fully engaged and secure before starting any exercise.

Using Resistance Bands

The included resistance bands can be attached to the designated anchor points on the bench frame to add variety and intensity to your workouts.

  • Attach the carabiner clips of the resistance bands to the metal rings or hooks on the front or rear of the bench frame.
  • Hold the handles of the resistance bands and perform exercises such as bicep curls, tricep extensions, chest presses, or rows.
  • Ensure the bands are securely attached and not frayed or damaged before use.

  • Bench Press: Adjust the backrest to a flat or incline position. Lie on the bench and perform presses with dumbbells or a barbell (not included).
  • Bicep Curls: Use the preacher curl attachment with dumbbells or resistance bands.
  • Leg Raises/Crunches: Adjust the bench to a decline position and use the leg support rollers to secure your feet for abdominal exercises.
  • Shoulder Press: Adjust the backrest to an upright or incline position. Sit on the bench and perform overhead presses with dumbbells.
  • Rows: Use resistance bands or dumbbells for various rowing exercises to target your back muscles.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe down the bench pads and frame with a damp cloth after each use to remove sweat and dirt. Use mild soap and water if necessary, then dry thoroughly. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • Inspection: Regularly check all bolts, nuts, and pins to ensure they are tight and secure. Tighten any loose fasteners.
  • Wear and Tear: Periodically inspect the resistance bands, upholstery, and frame for any signs of wear, cracks, or damage. Replace worn or damaged parts immediately.
  • Storage: When not in use, fold the bench for compact storage (refer to Section 5). Store in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Bench feels unstable: Ensure all assembly bolts are securely tightened. Check that the bench is on a flat, even surface.
  • Difficulty adjusting backrest/seat: Ensure the adjustment pin is fully pulled out before attempting to move the section. Check for any obstructions in the adjustment holes.
  • Squeaking noises: Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to pivot points or joints if persistent squeaking occurs. Avoid oil-based lubricants that can attract dust.
  • Resistance bands losing elasticity: Resistance bands naturally degrade over time. If they lose their elasticity or show signs of cracking, they should be replaced.
