1. Product Overview

The centechia Zigbee 3.0 Hub Gateway Bridge serves as a central control unit for your smart home system, enabling communication between Zigbee devices and allowing control via the eWelink APP, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant. It is available in two versions: Wireless and Wired.

1.1 Key Features

  • Smart Home Controlling Center: Acts as the central hub for your Zigbee smart home ecosystem.
  • eWelink APP Control: Manage your gateway and connected Zigbee devices remotely via the eWelink APP.
  • Voice Control: Compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for hands-free operation.

2. Package Contents

Please check the package for the following items:

  • 1 x ZigBee Smart Hub (Wireless or Wired, depending on model)
  • 1 x Network cable (Only included with Wired Gateway)
  • 1 x Power cord
  • 1 x User's manual

3. Setup Instructions

3.1 Download the eWelink APP

The eWelink APP is required to set up and control your Zigbee Smart Hub and connected devices. Scan the QR code below or search for "eWelink" on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to download the application.

3.2 Power On the Gateway

  1. Connect the power cord to the Type-C input port on the gateway and plug it into a power outlet.
  2. For the Wired Gateway (ZB-GW03), also plug the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port and connect it to your router.
  3. Observe the LED indicators. The red LED should flash quickly, indicating it's ready for pairing.

3.3 Add Gateway to eWelink APP

  1. Open the eWelink APP on your smartphone.
  2. Tap the "+" icon to add a new device.
  3. Select "All devices" and then navigate to "Hubs".
  4. Choose "Zigbee gateway" (for Wireless Gateway) or "Zigbee Hub (Ethernet)" (for Wired Gateway).
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts in the APP to complete the pairing process.

3.4 Add Sub-devices to the Gateway

Once your gateway is successfully added to the eWelink APP, you can begin adding your Zigbee sub-devices:

  1. Ensure your Zigbee sub-device is in pairing mode (refer to the sub-device's manual for specific instructions).
  2. In the eWelink APP, navigate to your Zigbee Hub.
  3. Tap the "+" icon within the Zigbee Hub interface to search for and pair new sub-devices.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Controlling Devices via eWelink APP

After pairing, you can control your Zigbee devices through the eWelink APP. The app allows you to:

  • Turn devices on/off remotely.
  • Set schedules and timers for automation.
  • Create smart scenes and device groups.
  • Monitor device status.

4.2 Voice Control with Smart Assistants

The Zigbee Smart Hub supports voice control through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Link your eWelink account to your preferred smart assistant app and use voice commands to control your connected devices.

Example commands:

  • "Alexa, turn on the light."
  • "Hey Google, turn off the fan."

4.3 Local Smart Scene Functionality

The gateway features an efficient and reliable local smart scene function. This means that pre-configured local scenes will continue to operate even if your Wi-Fi connection is temporarily lost. The built-in high-precision local RTC (Real-Time Clock) ensures accurate time synchronization, and scheduled tasks will resume once power is restored after an outage.

4.4 Multi-device Management

The Wired Gateway (ZB-GW03) supports adding over 120 sub-devices, while the Wireless Gateway (ZG-806Z) supports up to 50 sub-devices. This allows for extensive smart home automation.

5. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Zigbee Smart Hub, please follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Keep the device in a dry environment, away from moisture and extreme temperatures.
  • Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Ensure proper ventilation around the device to prevent overheating.
  • Regularly check the eWelink APP for firmware updates to ensure your gateway has the latest features and security enhancements.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 LED Indicator Status

The LED indicators on your gateway provide important information about its status. Refer to the table below for common LED behaviors:

6.2 Common Issues

  • Gateway not connecting to APP: Ensure the gateway is powered on and its LEDs indicate pairing mode (refer to the LED status table). Check your Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection. Try restarting the gateway and your router.
  • Sub-devices not pairing: Make sure the sub-device is in pairing mode and within range of the gateway. If the range is an issue, consider adding Zigbee repeaters.
  • Voice control not working: Verify that your eWelink account is correctly linked to Alexa or Google Assistant. Check the internet connection of your smart speaker.

Important Notes:

  • This gateway is designed for the eWelink APP and does NOT support Tuya/Smart Life APP.
  • This version does NOT support direct connection to Home Assistant.
