5. Operating Instructions: CANBUS Setup Guide
After physical installation, configure the CANBUS settings within your Android head unit to ensure proper communication with your vehicle's systems.
- Enter the Settings Menu:
- Power on the unit and navigate to "Settings" then "Factory Settings".
- You may be prompted for a password. Common default passwords include 8888, 1234, or 0000, depending on your device.
- Select the Correct CANBUS Type:
- In the "CAN Type" or "Protocol" section, choose the vehicle brand and model that precisely matches your car's protocol.
- Important: Selecting the exact matching protocol is crucial. Choosing the wrong one may lead to issues such as non-functional steering wheel controls, no sound from parking sensors, or other system malfunctions.
- Save and Restart:
- Once the correct protocol is selected, save the settings.
- Restart the head unit for the changes to take effect.
- Function Test:
After rebooting, verify the following features:
- Steering wheel controls
- Reverse camera and parking sensor sound
- Automatic headlight reminders
- Door status display
- Air conditioning information display (if supported by your vehicle and head unit)
6. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter during or after installation.
Common Troubleshooting Scenarios:
- No parking sensor sound:
- Ensure the correct vehicle protocol is selected in the CANBUS settings.
- Check if the factory amplifier option is enabled in your head unit's settings (if applicable).
- Steering wheel controls not working:
- Double-check the CANBUS protocol selection.
- If the exact protocol is unavailable, try selecting a similar vehicle protocol.
- Vehicle information (e.g., door status, AC info) not displayed:
- Your specific vehicle model may not support full CAN data integration with aftermarket head units.
- Verify the CANBUS protocol selection.
