3. Setup Instructions

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove the pump from its packaging. Ensure all components are present (pump unit with USB cable).
  2. Choose Location: Place the pump in the desired water container (e.g., pet fountain, fish tank). Ensure the pump is positioned where it will be fully submerged in water during operation.
  3. Attach Suction Cups: The pump is equipped with suction cups on its base for secure mounting. Press the pump firmly against a clean, smooth surface at the bottom of your water container to secure it.

  5. Connect Tubing (if applicable): If your application requires tubing, connect it securely to the pump's outlet nozzle (outer diameter approximately 0.86 cm).
  6. Fill with Water: Fill your container with water, ensuring the pump is completely submerged before connecting power.
  7. Connect Power: Plug the USB connector of the pump into a compatible DC 5V USB power source (e.g., USB wall adapter, power bank, computer USB port).

4. Operating Instructions

The JN-206 pump operates immediately upon receiving 5V DC power. It offers different operational modes based on the specific variant purchased:

  • Standard Mode: This mode provides continuous water circulation and is tolerant to dry burning, meaning the pump will not be damaged if it runs without water for a short period.
  • With Light Mode: In addition to continuous circulation, this mode includes LED indicators. The light will typically be blue when water is present and turn red if the water level is too low or absent. This mode is also tolerant to dry burning.
  • Light + No Water Power Off Mode: This advanced mode combines LED indicators with an automatic shut-off feature. The pump will display blue light with water and red light without water. Crucially, it will automatically shut down if there is no water, preventing prolonged dry running and conserving energy. This mode is also tolerant to dry burning.

To operate, simply ensure the pump is submerged and connected to a 5V USB power source. The pump will start circulating water according to its mode.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your pump.

  • Regular Cleaning: Disconnect the pump from power. Remove the pump from the water and gently disassemble the front cover and impeller. Clean any debris, hair, or mineral buildup from the impeller and its housing using a small brush or cotton swab. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  • Check Water Level: For models without the 'No Water Power Off' feature, regularly check and maintain the water level to ensure the pump remains fully submerged.
  • Inspect Cable: Periodically check the USB cable for any signs of damage or wear.
  • Reassembly: After cleaning, carefully reassemble the pump, ensuring all parts fit correctly. Place it back in the water and reconnect power.

6. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Pump not working No power; Blocked impeller; Insufficient water level (for auto-off models) Check USB power connection; Clean impeller; Ensure pump is fully submerged.
Weak water flow Blocked impeller/outlet; Kinked tubing; Low water level Clean impeller and outlet; Straighten tubing; Add more water.
LED shows red (for light models) Low or no water detected Add water to the container until the pump is fully submerged and the LED turns blue.
Pump turns off unexpectedly (for auto-off models) Water level is too low Refill water to ensure the pump is fully submerged.

7. User Tips

  • Always ensure the pump is fully submerged in water during operation to prevent overheating and ensure proper function, even with dry-burning tolerant models.
  • Use a stable 5V USB power adapter with sufficient current output to ensure consistent pump performance.
  • For pet fountains, consider using filtered water to minimize mineral buildup and extend the pump's life.
  • If the pump is used in a fish tank, ensure the water intake is clear of large debris or fish.
