6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Height Adjustment

The tripod offers quick height adjustment through its five-section legs and extendable center column:

  1. Extending Legs: To extend a leg section, rotate the leg quick release lock clockwise to loosen, pull the leg section out to the desired length, then rotate counter-clockwise to lock it firmly. Repeat for all sections and legs.
  2. Extending Center Column: Loosen the center column lock knob, pull the center column up to the desired height, and then tighten the knob to secure it.
  3. Minimum Height: For low-angle shooting, the center column can be fully retracted or even reversed.

6.2. Angle Adjustment

The tripod legs can be independently adjusted to three different angles for stability on uneven terrain or for specific shooting perspectives:

  • Normal Angle (23°): Standard setup for maximum height and stability.
  • Middle Angle (50°): Provides a lower center of gravity.
  • Low Angle (80°): Ideal for very low-to-the-ground shots.

To adjust, press the metal plate buckle lock at the top of each leg and move the leg to the desired angle until it clicks into place.

8. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the tripod with a soft, dry cloth after each use. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and mild soap, then dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Lubrication: Periodically check the moving parts (leg locks, ball head mechanisms) for smooth operation. If necessary, apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant.
  • Storage: Store the tripod in a dry, dust-free environment. Ensure it is fully collapsed and secured to prevent damage.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect all screws and connections for tightness. Use the provided Allen wrench to tighten any loose parts.

9. Troubleshooting

  • Tripod is unstable:
    • Ensure all leg sections are fully extended and their quick release locks are tightened.
    • Verify that the leg angle adjustment locks are securely engaged for all three legs.
    • Check that the quick release plate and ball head are firmly attached to your device and the tripod, respectively.
  • Ball head movement is stiff or loose:
    • If stiff, try loosening the pan or tilt lock knobs slightly.
    • If too loose, tighten the respective lock knobs. If persistent, a small amount of lubricant might be needed (refer to Maintenance).
  • Device not securely mounted:
    • Ensure the 1/4" screw on the quick release plate is fully tightened into your camera or smartphone holder.
    • Make sure the quick release plate knob on the ball head is fully tightened after mounting your device.

10. User Tips

  • Maximize Stability: Always extend the thickest leg sections first, and only extend thinner sections if additional height is required. Keep the center column as low as possible for maximum stability.
  • Balance Your Load: When mounting a camera, try to center its weight over the tripod's center of gravity to prevent tipping.
  • Use the Smartphone Holder: For smartphone photography, always use the dedicated smartphone holder to ensure a secure grip and prevent damage to your device.
  • Reverse Center Column for Macro: For extreme low-angle or macro photography, reverse the center column and mount your camera upside down.
  • Portability: Take advantage of its 18cm folded length and lightweight design by carrying it in your backpack for on-the-go shooting.
