Unpacking and Placement

  1. Carefully remove the record player and all accessories from the packaging.
  2. Place the record player on a stable, level surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive dust or vibrations.
  3. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
  4. Install the dust cover by aligning its hinges with the slots on the back of the record player.

Power Connection

  • Connect the provided DC 12V power adapter to the 'DC IN 12V' port on the rear panel of the record player.
  • Plug the adapter into a suitable wall outlet.

Connecting to External Audio Systems (Optional)

  • RCA Output: To connect to an external amplifier or powered speakers, use an RCA cable (not included) to connect the 'PHONO/LINE OUT' ports on the record player to the corresponding input on your audio system. Ensure your amplifier's input is set to 'LINE' or 'AUX' if the record player's output is set to 'LINE'.
  • AUX Input: To play audio from an external device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player) through the record player's built-in speakers, connect a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) from your device's headphone jack to the 'AUX IN' port on the rear panel.

Adjusting Tracking Force

The XJ-H01 features an adjustable tracking force. Refer to the tonearm counterweight for markings. Typically, the AT-3600L stylus requires a tracking force between 2.5 to 4.5 grams. Adjust the counterweight by rotating it until the tonearm is balanced, then set the desired tracking force according to the stylus manufacturer's recommendation for optimal performance and to prevent damage to your records.

Operating Instructions

Playing a Vinyl Record

  1. Power On: Rotate the 'VOLUME' knob clockwise until it clicks to turn on the unit.
  2. Select Speed: Set the speed selector switch (33, 45, or 78 RPM) to match the record you are playing. For 45 RPM records, place the included 45 RPM adapter on the spindle if needed.
  3. Place Record: Carefully place your vinyl record on the turntable platter.
  4. Lift Tonearm: Gently lift the tonearm using the cueing lever.
  5. Position Stylus: Move the tonearm over the desired starting groove of the record.
  6. Lower Tonearm: Slowly lower the tonearm using the cueing lever. The stylus will make contact with the record, and playback will begin.
  7. Adjust Volume: Rotate the 'VOLUME' knob to adjust the playback volume.
  8. End Playback: At the end of the record, the tonearm may automatically return to its rest position (depending on the model's auto-stop feature). Alternatively, manually lift the tonearm using the cueing lever, return it to the tonearm rest, and secure it with the tonearm clip.

  3. Play Music: Once paired, you can stream audio from your device to the record player's built-in speakers.

AUX Input Mode

  1. Connect Device: Connect your external audio device to the 'AUX IN' port on the rear panel using a 3.5mm audio cable.
  2. Select AUX: The record player should automatically switch to AUX input mode when a cable is detected. If not, ensure no record is playing and Bluetooth is disconnected.
  3. Play Music: Start playback on your external device. Adjust volume using the record player's 'VOLUME' knob and your external device's volume controls.

USB-PC Connection

The 'USB-PC' port allows you to connect the record player to a computer. This feature is typically used for digitizing your vinyl collection. You will need third-party recording software on your computer (e.g., Audacity) to capture the audio output from the turntable. Consult the software's instructions for recording procedures.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Stylus

  • Use a soft brush designed for stylus cleaning, brushing gently from back to front.
  • Avoid touching the stylus with your fingers, as oils can damage it.
  • A dirty stylus can cause poor sound quality and damage your records.

Cleaning the Record Player

  • Wipe the unit with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.
  • For stubborn marks, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Keep the dust cover closed when not in use to prevent dust accumulation.

Stylus Replacement

The AT-3600L stylus has a limited lifespan (typically 300-500 hours of playback). When sound quality degrades or distortion occurs, it's time to replace the stylus. Replacement styli for the AT-3600L cartridge are widely available from audio retailers.
