1. Product Overview

1.1 Package Contents

1.2 Device Layout and Buttons

Familiarize yourself with the physical components and controls of your M505 player:

Side View:

• Volume +: Increase volume.
• Volume -: Decrease volume.
• Reset: Small pinhole for device reset.
• Power on/off: Press and hold to power on/off, short press to sleep/wake.

Bottom View:

• Recording hole: Microphone for voice recording.
• Speaker: Audio output.
• 3.5mm output: Headphone jack.
• USB-C port: For charging and data transfer.
• TF card slot: For MicroSD/TF card expansion (up to 512GB).

2. Initial Setup

2.1 Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge your ZAQE M505 player. Use the provided USB-C charging cable and a 5V/1A or 5V/2A (10W) adapter. Avoid using fast chargers above 30W to protect battery life. You can also charge the device by connecting it to a computer via the USB-C cable.

2.2 Power On/Off and Auto Shutdown

To power on, press and hold the power button until the screen lights up. To power off, press and hold the power button and select 'Power off' from the options. You can also set an auto-shutdown timer (5/10/15/20/30 minutes) or schedule specific power on/off times in the system settings.

2.3 Language and Input Settings

Navigate to 'Settings' > 'System' > 'Language & input' to set your preferred language and input method. You can select Gboard for keyboard settings.

2.4 Connecting to Wi-Fi

To enable Wi-Fi, swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel or go to 'Settings' > 'WIFI'. Tap on the desired Wi-Fi network and enter the password if it's encrypted. The device supports Android 9.0 OS, providing a smooth experience for connecting to Wi-Fi and running apps.

2.5 Connecting to Bluetooth

Go to 'Settings' > 'Bluetooth' and turn it on. The device will automatically search for available Bluetooth devices. Select your desired device from the list to pair. The player's Bluetooth version is V4.0.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Music Playback

The ZAQE M505 supports various audio formats including MP3, OGG, FLAC, AAC, WAV, WMA, and APE. You can download music, scan for songs, and create playlists.

Downloading Songs: Connect the player to your computer via the USB-C cable. Drag and drop or copy/paste music files from your computer to the player's music storage folder.

Scanning Songs: After transferring, open the HiBy Music app on the player and initiate a scan to add the new songs to your library.

Creating Playlists: Within the HiBy Music app, you can create new playlists and organize your music.

3.2 Display Settings

Customize your display experience:

• Brightness level: Adjust screen brightness.
• Night light: Schedule night light mode and adjust intensity.
• Simulate color space: Options for disabled or monochromacy.
• Wallpaper: Select from Gallery, Live Wallpapers, or other wallpapers.
• Sleep: Set inactivity time before the screen turns off (15s, 30s, 1min, 2min, 5min, 10min, 30min).
• Auto-rotate screen: Enable or disable.
• Font size: Adjust text size (Small, Default, Large, Largest).
• Display size: Adjust display element size (Small, Default, Large).

3.3 Sound Settings

Adjust various audio levels and preferences:

• Media volume: Control volume for music and videos.
• Notification volume: Control volume for notifications.
• Alarm volume: Control volume for alarms.
• Default alarm sound: Set your preferred alarm tone.
• Screen locking sound, Charging sound, Touch sounds: Enable or disable these feedback sounds.
• Sound enhancement: Available for optimizing audio output.

3.4 Storage Management

View available and total internal storage, as well as SD card storage. You can also see storage usage by individual apps. The device supports up to 512GB external memory via MicroSD card.

3.5 Apps & Notifications

Access recently opened apps, uninstall or force stop applications, and manage notifications and app permissions.

3.6 Other Functions

The ZAQE M505 supports various functions including:

• E-Book Reading: Supports TXT format.
• Photo Viewer: Supports JPEG, BMP, GIF, PNG formats.
• Voice Recorder: Records audio in AMR format.
• FM Radio: Listen to FM broadcasts.
• World Clock: Keep track of time zones.
• Video Playback: Supports RM, RMVB, FLV, MP4, DAT, MKV, MPG, MOV, TS formats.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Battery Care

• For new batteries, it is recommended to perform several charge and discharge cycles to achieve optimal performance.
• To prevent battery degradation, if the device is not used for an extended period, charge and discharge it once a month.
• Always use the recommended 5V/1A or 5V/2A (10W) adapter and the provided USB-C cable for charging.

4.2 Cleaning

Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the screen or casing.

4.3 Software Updates

Periodically check for software updates in the device settings to ensure optimal performance and access to the latest features.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues, please refer to the solutions below. If the problem persists, contact customer service.

1. Device becomes hot: It is normal for the device to warm up during use. If it becomes excessively hot or behaves abnormally, contact customer service. Avoid prolonged use in high-temperature environments or direct sunlight.
2. Memory card not recognized: The device supports FAT, FAT32, and exFAT formats. After inserting the card, it should prompt you to format it. Choose to format the portable device.
3. No response to charging: Test the charging cable and device separately. Avoid adapters exceeding 5V/1A, 10W. If the device is faulty, contact customer service.
4. Charging does not reach 100%: Try pressing the reset hole (located below the volume button) with a pin for 5 seconds, then charge with the provided cable. The device should start after one hour of charging. If not, contact customer service.
5. Battery drains quickly: Close unnecessary background applications. Use the recommended charging device (5V/1A or 5V/2A) to extend battery life. Super-fast charging is prohibited.
6. Unable to connect to Wi-Fi: Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled. Wi-Fi stability depends on factors like distance and router signal. Try connecting to a mobile hotspot first. Note: The player cannot connect to guest Wi-Fi networks that require data network login.
7. Unable to connect to Bluetooth: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled. The connected device can only disconnect from other devices. The player's Bluetooth version is V4.0. Check compatibility.
8. Player runs slowly or freezes: Regularly clear the player's memory and delete large, unused applications. Avoid running multiple apps in the background.
9. Device keeps shutting down: Check if the automatic power on/off setting is set to "Never" in the settings.
10. Cannot enter home screen after reset: Click the four corners (upper-left, upper-right, lower-right, lower-left) in sequence on the language initial interface, or press the power button ten times.
11. Forgot password: Contact customer service to obtain a universal unlock password to protect your privacy and security.

7. User Tips

• Charging Adapter: Always use a 5V/1A or 5V/2A (10W) adapter for charging to protect the battery. Avoid fast chargers above 30W.
• Initial Setup: If you encounter issues completing the initial setup, try skipping the Wi-Fi connection step first. You can connect to Wi-Fi later through the settings.
• Streaming Apps: The device supports popular streaming apps like Spotify, Audible, Pandora, Amazon Music, and Apple Music. Connect to Wi-Fi to download and use these applications.
• Headphones: The player comes with headphones and has separate AUX (3.5mm) and USB-C ports.

8. Safety Warnings

• Do not leave the device in environments with excessively low or high temperatures.
• Avoid prolonged exposure to temperatures below -10°C or above 50°C.
• Extreme temperatures can cause device deformation and shorten its lifespan.
• Do not use the device during thunderstorms.
• Do not immerse the device in water.
• Store the device away from direct sunlight.
