5. Installation & Setup
5.1 Initial Setup
- Before First Use: Remove all protective films from the device.
- Charging: Connect the provided USB cable to a certified 5V power adapter. Ensure the device is fully charged before first use.
5.2 Attaching to a Mobile Phone
The EY-022 scanner features a special back clip-on design that supports mobile phones with a width of 60mm (2.36 inch) to 110mm (4.33 inch).
- Hold the scanner and your phone.
- Gently stretch the scanner's clips outwards.
- Position your phone between the clips and release, ensuring the phone is securely held.
Note:
- Please do not install the scanner where there is a button on your phone.
- Please do not install the scanner where there are protruding decorations on your phone.
- The scanner is designed not to affect your phone's camera when clamped on the back.


6. Operation
6.1 Power On/Off
- To Turn On: Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds.
- To Turn Off: Press and hold the power button until the device powers down.
6.2 Connectivity
The EY-022 supports Bluetooth connectivity, allowing it to communicate with various devices such as smartphones, iPads, and computers. It supports Bluetooth HID, SPP, and BLE modes.
- Bluetooth Connection: The scanner's Bluetooth function turns on automatically upon power-up. Pair it with your device (phone, tablet, or computer) via Bluetooth settings.
- USB Receiver Connection: For devices without Bluetooth or for a more stable connection, use the included USB receiver. Plug the receiver into your computer's USB port. The scanner will automatically connect to the receiver.
6.3 Scanning Modes
The scanner offers three distinct scanning modes:
- Manual Trigger Mode: Press the scanning button to initiate a scan.
- Self-sensing Mode: The scanner automatically reads a barcode once it detects one in its scanning area.
- Continuous Mode: The scanner continuously scans, ideal for high-volume scanning tasks.
