5. Safety Information

6. Setup

6.1 Charging the Device

The ATuMan LS6 comes with a built-in 300mAh rechargeable lithium battery. Before first use, or when the battery indicator shows low power, charge the device using the provided USB Type-C cable.

  1. Connect the USB Type-C cable to the charging port on the side of the device.
  2. Connect the other end of the cable to a standard USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
  3. The battery indicator on the display will show the charging status. A full charge typically takes a few hours.

6.2 Powering On/Off

  • Power On: Press and hold the main button (usually the central square button) for a few seconds until the display lights up.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the main button again for a few seconds. The device also features an automatic shutdown function after 180 seconds of inactivity to conserve battery.

7.1 Basic Distance Measurement

  1. Power on the device.
  2. Point the laser beam at the target surface.
  3. Press the main button once to initiate a measurement. The distance will be displayed on the screen.

7.2 Laser Line Projection (One-Word Throw Mode)

This mode allows you to project a horizontal or vertical laser line for alignment and leveling.

  1. Select the laser line projection mode (refer to the device's on-screen icons for mode selection).
  2. Place the device on a stable surface or hold it against the wall.
  3. The device will project a clear laser line, assisting with tasks like hanging pictures or installing shelves.

7.3 Angle Measurement

The LS6 can measure both horizontal and vertical angles.

  1. Select the desired angle measurement mode.
  2. Position the device to measure the angle. The angle will be displayed on the screen.
  3. This feature can be combined with distance measurement for advanced applications.

7.4 Area and Volume Measurement

The device can automatically calculate area and volume after taking the necessary length measurements.

  1. Select the Area or Volume measurement mode.
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts to measure the required dimensions (length, width, height).
  3. The device will automatically calculate and display the area or volume.

7.5 Unit Switching

To switch between meters (m), inches (in), and feet (ft):

  • Locate the unit switching button or option in the menu (refer to the icons in Figure 3.3).
  • Press the button to cycle through the available units.
