Setup and Assembly

This power bank case is designed for easy DIY assembly without welding. Please follow these steps carefully:

  1. Disassembly: Use the provided screwdriver to remove the screws securing the top and bottom caps of the power bank case. Carefully separate the transparent casing from the internal circuit board and battery compartment.
  2. Battery Selection: Only use flat head unprotected 18650 batteries (65mm long) with an internal resistance within 50 mOhm and a discharge rate of 1C or more. Ensure the battery appearance is intact, and the positive end is not damaged or broken. Do not use pointed batteries or batteries with protection plates that do not comply with these requirements.
  3. Battery Testing (Step 2): Before installation, test each selected battery individually.
    • Use a multimeter to check the voltage of each battery; it should not be less than 3V. For normal output, 3.5V batteries are recommended.
    • If a multimeter is unavailable, you can use the battery box itself for a basic test:
    • Diagram showing how to test a single 18650 battery in the battery box, illustrating correct polarity for testing.

Figure 3: Battery Testing in Battery Box

    • Put a single battery into the battery box, ensuring correct polarity (negative '-' connects to the spring, positive '+' connects to the shrapnel).
    • Press the button on the power bank to check if the digital display responds.
    • If there is no response, the battery cannot be used and should be discarded.
    • If there is a response, check the displayed value. If the display power is below 50%, charge the battery box until it reaches over 50%. If it's already above 50%, the battery voltage is normal.
  4. Battery Installation: Install the 8x 18650 batteries into the designated compartments, paying close attention to polarity.
    • The positive terminal (+) of the battery connects to the shrapnel.
    • The negative terminal (-) of the battery connects to the spring.

Figure 4: Correct Battery Polarity and Installation

WARNING: Do not install batteries in reverse polarity, as this may burn the springs. If any battery becomes hot during installation, immediately remove it to prevent spontaneous combustion.

  5. Reassembly: Once all batteries are correctly installed, carefully align the transparent casing and secure it with the top and bottom caps using the provided screws.
  6. Initial Activation: After assembly, connect the power bank to a charger to activate it.
  7. First Use Cycle: After activation, fully discharge the power bank, then charge it for approximately 20 hours to ensure the batteries are completely equalized.

Charging the Power Bank

Use a compatible charger and cable to charge the power bank via the Micro Input or Type-C Input port. The digital display will show the charging progress.

Using as a Power Bank (Output)

  • USB Outputs (OUT1, OUT2): Connect your mobile devices to the USB1 or USB2 ports using appropriate charging cables. These ports support fast charging protocols.
  • Type-C Output: The Type-C port also functions as an output, supporting PD protocol for fast charging compatible devices.

Digital Display

The digital display shows the current battery level as a percentage. A flashing lightning bolt icon indicates fast charging is active.

Maintenance

  • Battery Care: Always use the specified flat head unprotected 18650 batteries. Regularly inspect batteries for any signs of damage, such as broken skin or deformation. Replace damaged batteries immediately.
  • Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the power bank with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: Store the power bank in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Avoid Impact: The power bank is made of high-strength materials but avoid dropping or subjecting it to strong impacts to protect internal components.

Troubleshooting

  • Power Bank Not Responding: If the digital display does not light up when you press the button, it may indicate a faulty battery or incorrect installation. Re-check battery polarity and ensure batteries meet the specified requirements.
  • Battery Overheating: If a battery becomes hot during installation or use, immediately remove it. This indicates a potential issue with the battery itself or incorrect installation.
  • Low Power Display: If the digital display shows a power level below 50% after initial activation or charging, continue charging the power bank until it reaches over 50% to ensure proper equalization.
  • Charging Issues: If the power bank is not charging or not providing output, ensure all cables are securely connected and that the charger and devices are compatible with the power bank's specifications.
