3. Setup

3.1. Battery Installation

The remote control can be powered by 4pcs No.5 (AA) batteries or a 2S lithium battery (DC4.5-9V).

  1. Using No.5 Batteries: Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the transmitter. Insert four No.5 batteries, ensuring correct polarity as indicated inside the compartment.
  2. Using 2S Lithium Battery: Alternatively, insert a 2S lithium battery into the battery compartment socket.

3.2. External Power Supply

You can connect an external power supply to the DC power socket on the right side of the remote control. When using an external power supply, please remove the battery from the remote control battery compartment first.

Diagram showing the back and side views of the transmitter. Labels point to the 'Battery compartment', 'Audio' port (for computers and simulations), and 'External input DC 6V power supply' port (for indoor testing). A note indicates the DC port is not for charging, only for simulator teaching or external power usage.
Figure 5: External Power Supply and Ports.

3.3. Frequency Pairing/Alignment

When unpacking for the first time, please compare the frequency between the transmitter and receiver. After successful frequency comparison, the transmitter and receiver will receive a short distance testing at the same time. Holding the transmitter 10 to 15 meters away from the receiver, and shaking the transmitter rocker to observe if the model is controlled by the transmitter. If controlled, it indicates that the transmitter and receiver are working properly.

After the remote control is turned off and the receiver is powered on, press the frequency control button on the receiver, and the orange light will flash quickly to indicate the receiver. Enter the frequency matching mode, and then turn on the remote control. The receiver's orange light will turn on permanently, and the receiver will receive a normal signal.

4.3. Mixed Control

After turning on the machine, press the MIX key for 3 seconds to switch to mixed control mode. The left light is for 2/4 mixed control, and the right light is for 1/2 mixed control.

4.4. Left and Right Hand Mode Switching

Press and hold the (AIL+RUD) button before turning on the transmitter to switch between left and right hands. In left-hand mode, the left joystick controls channels 1 and 2, and the right joystick controls channels 3 and 4. In right-hand mode, the left joystick controls channels 3 and 4, and the right joystick controls channels 1 and 2.

4.5. D/R Control

The large and small rudder switching switch. The large rudder signal output is 100% (i.e., 1000-2000), and the small rudder output is 50% (i.e., 1250-1750).

4.6. Keyboard Lock

After turning on the machine, press the (LOCK) key for 3 seconds to lock it. After locking, the lock light will light up, and the fine adjustments and control/reverse key are not available.

5. Maintenance

5.1. Battery Life

The battery life of 4pcs No.5 batteries or 2pcs lithium batteries can reach more than 8 hours.

5.2. Automatic Shutdown

To save power and extend battery life, the remote control will automatically shut down after 10 minutes of inactivity (and will not automatically shut down when in a speed-locked state Power off).

5.3. Battery Replacement

If the power light and mode light appear alternately flashing, and accompanied by a dripping sound, it indicates low battery. Please replace the battery as soon as possible.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1. Loss of Control Protection

When the receiver cannot receive the transmitter signal normally, the loss of control protection will activate. This occurs when the transmitter is turned off or the distance exceeds the range that the receiver can receive the signal. When the signal cannot be received, it will return to the set runaway protection value to protect the model from damage.

Diagram illustrating the Loss of Control Protection feature. Text explains that if the receiver loses signal from the transmitter, it will return to a preset runaway protection value to prevent model damage.
Figure 12: Loss of Control Protection.
