3. Setup Guide

3.1 Control Panel Placement

The control panel can be placed on a flat surface using its built-in stand or mounted on a wall. Choose a central location in your home for optimal wireless signal coverage.

3.2 Powering On and Initial Setup

Connect the power adapter to the control panel and plug it into a power outlet.
The panel will power on and display the main interface.
Enter the default Admin Code (refer to your quick start guide or product packaging for the default code, typically '123456' or '000000').
Navigate to the settings menu.

3.3 Connecting to WiFi

The system supports WiFi for app control and notifications. Follow these steps to connect:

From the System Settings menu on the control panel, select 'WiFi'.
Choose 'Smartlink' or 'SoftAp' for networking mode. 'Smartlink' is generally easier for initial setup.
On your smartphone, open the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app.
Add a new device and select 'Multifunction alarm' or similar security device.

3.4 Pairing Wireless Devices (Sensors & Remotes)

The system supports up to 100 wireless zones. To pair a device:

From the main menu, go to 'Device management' (often represented by a WiFi-like icon).
Select the '+' icon to add a new wireless device. The panel will enter pairing mode, typically with a countdown.
**For Remote Controls:** Press any button on the remote control. The panel will announce 'Defense zone pairing' and then 'Pairing completed'.
**For Door/Window Sensors:** Separate the two parts of the sensor or press its test button. The panel will announce 'Defense zone pairing' and then 'Pairing completed'.
**For SOS Button:** Press the SOS button. The panel will announce 'Defense zone pairing' and then 'Pairing completed'.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Arming and Disarming

The system can be armed or disarmed via the touchscreen panel, remote control, or the Smart Life app.

Arm: Activates all sensors. Any triggered sensor will initiate an alarm.
Disarm: Deactivates the alarm system.
Home Arm (Partial Arm): Activates specific sensors (e.g., perimeter sensors like door/window sensors) while allowing movement within the home.

4.2 Zone Types

The system supports 4 types of zones, which can be customized for each sensor:

24 Hour Zone: Always active, regardless of arming status. Ideal for smoke detectors, gas leak detectors, or emergency buttons.
Normal Zone: Active when the system is fully armed. Typically used for PIR motion detectors.
Home Zone: Active when the system is armed in 'Home' mode. Typically used for door/window sensors to protect the perimeter while allowing free movement inside.
Delay Zone: Provides an entry/exit delay before triggering an alarm, allowing time to arm/disarm the system.

4.3 Alarm Notifications

When an alarm is triggered, the system will:

Sound the siren.
Send APP notifications to linked smartphones.
Send SMS alerts to preset numbers.
Make phone calls to preset numbers.

4.4 Voice Control Integration

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Replacement

PIR Detectors: Use 2 AAA batteries (DC 3V). Replace when the low battery indicator appears on the panel or app.
Door Sensors: Use 1 CR2032 battery (DC 3V). Replace when the low battery indicator appears.
Remote Controls: Use 1 CR2032 battery (DC 3V). Replace when the remote's range decreases or it becomes unresponsive.

The control panel has a built-in backup battery to maintain functionality during power outages. Ensure the main power supply is consistent.

5.2 Solar Siren

If your kit includes a solar siren, ensure it is placed in a location that receives adequate sunlight for charging its internal battery. The siren is designed to be rain-resistant.

5.3 Cleaning

Wipe the control panel and sensors with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

6. Troubleshooting

WiFi Connection Issues: Ensure your WiFi network is 2.4GHz. Double-check your WiFi password. Try restarting your router and the alarm panel. If 'Smartlink' fails, try 'SoftAp' mode.
Sensor Not Pairing: Ensure the sensor is within range of the control panel. Replace the sensor battery if it's low. Re-enter pairing mode on the panel and trigger the sensor again.
'New Alarm: Most Low power' Message: This indicates a low battery in one of your wireless sensors. Check the alarm records or device list in the app/panel to identify the specific sensor and replace its battery.
False Alarms: Ensure PIR detectors are not facing direct sunlight, heat sources, or areas with pets if not pet-immune. Check door/window sensors for proper alignment.
No App Notifications: Verify the panel is connected to WiFi/4G. Check your phone's notification settings for the Smart Life app. Ensure the app is running in the background.

8. User Tips

Understanding Home/Partial Arm Mode: When a door sensor is set to 'Home Zone' or 'Partial Arm' mode, it will activate the alarm if opened. This mode is designed to secure entry points while you are inside the home. Ensure your PIR sensors are set to 'Normal Zone' if you want to move freely indoors during 'Home Arm'.
Regular Testing: Periodically test your sensors and the alarm system to ensure all components are functioning correctly.
