4. Product Overview

4.1 Dimensions and Design

The BDP-G2805 features a compact design with dimensions of 280mm (width) x 200mm (depth) x 38mm (height). It has a fully enclosed design with a metal structure heat dissipation system to ensure stability and longevity of the optical drive.

4.2 Front Panel

The front panel includes the disc tray, a digital display, control buttons (Play/Pause, Stop, Open/Close), and a USB port for convenient access to local media.

4.3 Rear Panel Interfaces

The rear panel provides various connectivity options:

5. Setup Instructions

Setting up your GIEC BDP-G2805 is a simple two-step process:

  1. Connect Power Supply: Plug the power cable into the player's power input and then into a compatible 220V-240V power outlet.
  2. Connect to TV: Use either an HDMI high-definition cable or an AV cable to connect the player to your television.

The player is compatible with various television types, including old style TVs with AV interfaces, flat screen TVs with AV interfaces, displays with HDMI interfaces, and LCD TVs with HDMI interfaces.

5.1 Audio System Connection

For enhanced audio, connect the player's Coaxial output to your audio system (e.g., AV receiver) to utilize DTS and Dolby dual decoding outputs for 5.1 audio effects.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Disc Playback

The BDP-G2805 offers strong compatibility with various disc formats:

  • Supported Discs: BD-ROM, BD-R/RE, DVD-Video, DVD+R/+RW, Video CD, DVD-R/-RW, CD-R/-RW, SVCD, CD-DTS, CD, HDCD.
  • It can read Blu-ray discs from all regions (ABC area) and without sound restrictions.
  • The player features automatic error correction for smooth disc reading, even for old or slightly damaged CDs.

6.2 Local Media Playback

The BDP-G2805 is equipped with dual USB 2.0 ports (one on the front, one on the rear) for convenient local media playback. It supports:

  • External USB flash drives.
  • External 3.5-inch hard drives up to 4TB.
  • Various audio formats (APE, FLAC, MP3, OGG, WMA, etc.).
  • Various video formats (MP4, MKV, AVI, RMVB, WMV, etc.).
  • External subtitles.

6.3 High-Definition Video Output

Enjoy 1080P high-definition picture quality. The player outputs 1920 x 1080 resolution, which is standard for Blu-ray discs. The G2805 4K model upscales 1080P content to 4K resolution, providing richer picture quality and details, but it is not a true native 4K UHD player.

6.4 Advanced Features

  • High-Speed Cache: Equipped with 2GB (bit) high-capacity DDR3 cache for zero-lag, smoother audio and video playback.
  • Breakpoint Memory: The player automatically remembers the last playback position, allowing you to resume movies or discs from where you left off, even after powering off.
  • DTS and Dolby Decoding: Supports DTS and Dolby dual decoding outputs for a pure listening experience when connected to an audio system via the coaxial port.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the player. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Disc Care: Keep discs clean and free of scratches. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe discs from the center outwards.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the player has adequate ventilation. Do not block the ventilation openings.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, disconnect the power cable and store the player in a cool, dry place.

8. Troubleshooting
